I told you about the woman I am thinking of getting in, didn't I? She lives out your way. I have to pay extra to get her down here but I have seen her in action and she's fantastic.
I need to get done.

"No, no and no! Them fuckers go through your stuff and your head and tell you to throw stuff away! "
I need to get rid of stuff. I'm fed up with having to keep shuffling it about and tired of not being able to find anything. |

"So do you pay someone to sort your house out?
How does it work? "
You pay someone to come and sort you out. As Femme said they get in your stuff and in your head and make you throw stuff away.
I need it. |

"No one is going through my shit and throwing it out! How do they know what is important shit, and what us just shit shit??"
You work with them or you trust them got get on with it. Nothing gets permanently gone until you go through it, or so my friend tells me. She works on the idea that when you see the pile of rubbish and the clean, tidy, organised you'll choose not to add the crap back into the mix. |

If you have a friend who isnt a hoarder get her round to sort it with you. I have done it with friends as the only thing I hoard is books. Basically we started at one end and worked our way through things putting them away. When we ran out of space she had to make a case to keep the stuff. Requires a certain ruthlessness though |

Someone I know suggests tackling "stuff" in fifteen minute chunks, just long enough to see a small difference but not long enough to make it daunting. It does work to an extent because when you see the difference it's started to make you go on to do a but more......or if you're like me you think "well that's me done" & shut the cupboard door and put the kettle on. |

"I have a rule, if I've not used or worn it in 6 months it goes in the bin or on ebay x"
I used to do that with sending things to the charity shops. I sent an oyster satin swing coat to the charity and have regretted it ever since. I now have a real block of getting rid of stuff.
I should get rid of about 200 books, two wardrobes worth of clothes, 10 pairs of shoes and get rid of an awful lot of useless paperwork. I know this but I have become stuck.

I need to sort out my filing cabinet to clear some space for newer stuff I need to file. I haven't been able to face it yet.
My pile of things to ebay is growing but I can't face doing that at the moment either.
I got rid of a lot of books before I moved but I still have too many.
As I'm losing weight, clothes that are too small have been packed up and put in the loft for now.
I have a few ideas for creating a bit more storage but they involve DIY stuff which is taking time.
Shoes, books, computer stuff, stationery, cosmetics CDs and DVDs all contribute to the problem. I also have a lot of toys and kink stuff I have no idea where I am going to store. |
