Think I'd try and go through it first see if there was any naughty stuff on it |

I've found phones before, looked through the phone book for mum or someone and rang them.
I left mine in the gym changing room a couple of months ago and a lady chased me up the stairs and gave it back to me! I was very grateful x |

"ok heres a morality question for everyone
if you found a mobile phone what would you do?"
I have found one in the disabled toilet, it was an all dancing singing phone, guy had left it on the soap dispenser, I returned it to the customer info desk in shopping centre, with my name, addy and phone number, about an hour later I had a call from a very happy man |

See if I could unlock it to find a number such as 'home' or 'mum' etc and call it to let them know I have it.
Alternatively take it to the police station. |

We'd both give it back. Getting to the police station to hand it in can be a pain, particularly if you have to queue.
Hopefully the person with the lost phone would message or call their phone so that they could come and collect it. If found in a shopping centre, train station or supermarket then I would hand it into security and make it their problem though.
If you want to keep the phone then don't forget about tacking and locateme etc. You may get arrested and theft shows up on CRB checks. |

"Ok, so given thoughts on this what would be the results of finding a wallet/purse, what would you do in that instance?
"
Also hand it in to the police. With all contents still in place.
I hate people who think it's their right to keep other people's possessions.

I would try and get it back to the owner first by looking through numbers, if unable to do this I would hand it in to the police or place that I found it
Next time you find a phone and are thinking about keeping it, think about the person first! People may have irreplaceable pictures of their family on there! |

I've found those before too, easy enough to find I'd either on driving license or bank card, one I found only had a loyalty card in and some money but I looked the name up on Facebook and found the owner that way. |

Upon leaving the tube I looked in horror as I felt for my wallet only to see that it lay where I'd been sitting. Fearing the worst I received a phone call from my mother telling me someone had found my wallet and was waiting at the next station. Once reunited I offered the person a reward as I'd just withdrawn a large amount of money which they kindly rejected.........faith restored. In either case these are both personal items and if it were me I'd have to return. |

Keeping or selling it is theft and you are a theif if you do that.
Most smartphones these days have gps and cell trackers in them so they can be located. With mine I can render it unworkable by sending it a text from any other phone.
Any subsequent attempt to connect to a network, even after reloading a fresh operating system, will result in its location being reported to me (and the police) as a result of hardware identification numbers reported as it connects to any service provider.
So, if you want a small paperweight and a criminal record, steal a modern smartphone. |

"Question for the op, if you had a life, what would you do with it?
That's not very nice is it. Plus how much better is your life if you are posting on threads you think are dull??"
It's supposed to be a swinging site, but still people start bone threads about pointless shit!
As for my/our life, it's very good thanks. Just up having a brew before going back to bed. How about you? |

Where does it say that we have to talk about cocks and fannies at all times? This is the lounge. It is used for general discussion. If you want talk about cocks and fannies you could try swingers chat or swinging discussion or stories and fantasies etc.
My life is grand ta. Just cooking a kipper before going out to do my do gooder bit for the week. |

If you cant access the phone because it's locked, all you have to so is find the imei number and phone whichever company sim is in the phone. leave your contact details so the rightful owner can contact you.
I have done this before and the owner was on the phone to me in minutes. Very happy he was too. |

Great thinking! but maybe give them the SIM as well as not all networks keep up to date records of IMEI numbers if the phone has been replaced via insurance or a warranty exchange for example. |

Id look to see if I could access the contacts and call 'home' or 'ICE'. If that didn't work then I'd hand it into the police. Wouldn't dream of keeping it, that's stealing If I lost mine I'd be devastated and hope an honest person would do the same!!
I've not read the whole thread but I read enough to know that I hope to goodness some of you wouldn't find my phone!! |

hand in the phone to the police... if it not claimed after 6 months then legally you can get it back....
if it is an iphone, they can be remotely wiped and locked so no one will be able to use it anyway...
that is why iphone users show always put on the "find my iphone" app as the 1st app they ever put on an iphone or ipad... it can be traced as well using gps from either another iphone, or a computer at home... |

"Try and get hold of owner or hand it in. I don't hang around with people who sell/buy knock off phones."
If worse comes to the worse , would put in at police station, but would try and ring their mum etc first ,
I don't hang around or know anyone who buys or sells knock of stuff. |

If I'd lost mine, I'd appreciate someone doing their best to find me, or get it back/safe where it can be retrieved from. I'd do the same for someone else.
You could put free cards in nearby supermarkets, hand it in to the police etc. Guess you could even call the network that it's using, so that if the caller tries to get it blocked, then they could tell him/her that it's been found and what to do.
It's not worth stealing, unless you are really desperate - that is what is making the world go downhill, where people care less for each other. Keep standards high! |
