We're always short of donors in this country.
I've donated blood for a long time. Basically as my father was only 34 when he died, but he lived longer than he would have due to the kindness of blood donors. He had to have regular blood transfusions.
Just seen on BBC news the article about an 18 month old with leukemia who desperately needs a stem cell transplant. Certainly makes you think. They've asked people to register on the Delete Blood Cancer site. So if you're not registered & would consider it, have a look. |

I've been a donor ever since my sister had cancer when she was I kid. I pretty much grew up around a children's oncology ward.
After seeing this story a couple of weeks ago I sent off for a swab kit. |
