"A classic example is the way "loch" is pronounced by folks from London/most of England
They pronounce it - lock.
"
I'm English and I don't pronounce it lock. I think saying "most" English do is incorrect. A lot don't. |

Admittedly I say lock too. I can't do that growly thing that some Scottish and Welsh words require |

Bath with a short a
Scone as in gone
Tomato as in tomarto
Grass as in ass
And garage as in garridge
I am very well spoken and have frequently been accused of being a southerner but my pronunciation of all of these words shows me to be a Yorkshire lass to the bone. |

When I moved to Derbyshire, it annoyed me how nearly everyone seemed to feel the need to "correct" how I pronounced certain words, yet said acksin instead of asking...
I say barth, not baff.
Grarss, not grassss, ect
And completely off topic, but a roll will never be a cob to me. - That could start a whole new debate!

My children are the same. Ju is very well spoken and is always picking them up on their pronunciation. My son speaks like me though but my daughter is bordering on posh. |

Can't stand this laziness where people say 'of' instead of have and 'we was/is'
Even worse when it's written.
No excuse for apalling spelling iether(sic) in this spellcheck era.
It's really offputting in profiles but it would probably be worse if you turned up at the venue to meet the 'Battersbys' rather than the posh gits you were expecting lol |

Laugh is a bad choice as it can also be pronounced with either a short or long "a" sound
Bath as in Math
Scone as in on
And tomato not tom-A-to. |
