I read books, did crafts, went out with my children as much as possible. They had bikes, skates etc and were always out on them. In winter family would come round for dinner and the children would go up to the playroom and play nicely together. We did things as a family and I make sure I do with my grandchildren still |

Had to book an international line wirh the operator to call England and then feel sick as each pip in the earpiece signalled anothe dollar on the phone bill. Took ages to dial with a rotary dial and was often off putting because of the time delay. Made conversation difficult! So I am lucky enough to be of the generation that still thinksmit is a miracle to have a free Skype video call to a former girlfriend in Capetown.....
Amazing! We have come a long way from plugging the old Spectrum into the telly and waiting 5 minutes to load Jetpac from a cassette recorder lol |

Rang people off pay phones
Rushed home to see if anyone has rang when you was out
Watched the bill
Recorded the chart show on a tape and sat there for three hours to press stop and record
Make tie dye clothing
Go clubbing and hope u pulled
And if u odd pull, take their home number and leave messages with their mum
Or is that just me ????? |

Yes i remember those contact mags, others called desire and matchmaker too.
Would be so excited when the postman came, lol.
Must have spent most of my time paying football, video games on Sega meagadrive or SNES, watching telly and going out clubbing. |

Those were the days.
The Roneo to make copies, telex to send messages overseas, the doll's eye switchboard and the sophistication of moving to a trim phone.

Dial-up was Great.. the only connection that allowed you the time to make a Brew and Drink it - whilst waiting to connect !! "
Now people go mental if it takes longer than two seconds.

I was of pure mind, body and soul before the internet, it has corrupted me.
I can't remember what year we first had it. In the evenings i would mainly read and do a bit of sewing, look after the kids and organise their social lives, was heavily involved in football clubs for many years, walk the dog, took some photos etc.
When we first went online, the old dial up system, started using chat rooms, the msn ones.
When we spoke about swinging and were thinking about going to a club, that was when i researched the swinging scene, and joined a site to chat on the forums and that was the start of the corruption |

We used to play computer games on Vic 20's, Apple Macs, Atari st's, Commadore 64 and such like. Read books and play with your mates in the street.
On a swinging front I seem to recall seeing some top shelf magazines that helped people meet up for sex as well as the recognised clubs. |

Recorded the top 40 on Radio 1 onto cassette on a Sunday night, stopping the tape each time the DJ spoke. Had 4 radio stations and 3 TV stations.
Rode our bikes, played various things in the street (tag, hide and seek, kiss chase, skipping, football).
Read comics, later Knave, Readers Wives, ... |
