Titz Towers, North Notts

I've had a trip to Boots today to be colour matched.

It was great. The staff weren't bothered in the slightest about me popping up in drab mode. I was sat down and one of the girls there used some technological wizardry to determine that my colour shade is 'warm beige'.

She recommended a blusher that would compliment this, ditto eye shadow and lipstick. I was in there for about half an hour or so and came out £75 or so lighter, but really looking forward to some glam time in a bit

Ooh...I love visiting the make up counters too Tina. Mac being my favourite. They're amazing artists and I can never get the same effect but have learnt a hell of a lot from them and video tutorials.

Love visiting the make up counters. Especially if I'm feeling drab. Always great to have a change of colours.

One of these days I'm going to treat myself to a personal shopper!

I'll do it. I love shopping for others.

Tina, I hope this means your bank card has been sorted.

Where would you like to shop? I'm usually free for a couple of days around Gold Cup time.

Eventually, after a lot of messing about. I had about 5 peeps ask if I wanted cash to tide me over till I could access the vaults again, which was lovely.

I can't recommend doing this strongly enough and let's hope the pics look ok

Just to let everyone know it wasn't a full success.

The foundation worked a treat, so did the blusher. The lipstick was a complimentary shade, but the eyeshadow scheme an unmitigated disaster. Less can be more, but only if you can tell that you are wearing the stuff in the first place!

Did she aim for a natural look? The ladies who do this will have a look in mind, day time, evening, wedding etc. or will aim to place more emphasis on a certain feature. Next time ask for a stronger more defined look for your eyes. Its good to hear that you're pleased with the rest of it and you might be able to use the eyeshadows in combination with some stronger versions of the same shade.

Try it out next week. We could rate your eye make up.

Make sure you wear your name tag. I want to make sure it's you I'm talking to.

anyone who wants to try colours etc without breaking the bank could do a lot worse than the Miss Sporty range in Superdrug, it's cheap (mascara £1.99) but I think very good quality.

Not noticed miss sporty in superdrug, but that's where I get my mua(make up academy), from, and it's only a pound for single colour eye shadows.

Maybe its only in some stores. I've seen Mua in there but never tried it. I have make up ranging from Chanel, through to Max Factor and Miss Sporty and genuinely find that if you choose carefully the main difference is the packaging. Rumour has it that Bourjois is Chanel repackaged but I don't know how true that is.
