My cooking knives get sharpened every time I use them. A blunt knife is a dangerous knife.
The knife I use when I'm hunting has a heavier blade but still gets sharpened frequently... |

There's a skill involved in doing it correctly, doing it wrong dulls the blade. I usually use an oil stone instead of a sharpening steel too. |

I use a sharpening steel.
But am I the only one to remember the man with the knife grinder (man) who'd turn up once a month and do the whole street's cutlery? |

He's probably having a cheeky smoke and reading a jazz mag while clanking the knives together for effect. |

Yes. He's comes around every six or so weeks. He's quite an old chap and the grinding is towed behind his bicycle. |

It was a Gift that just looked too nice to be used !!
They come in a nice carry case and its something a student-chef or similar would use.. it has about 7 knives and the fork and sharpen thingy lol - and iv got loads of knives and feel it would be criminal to use this beautiful set - unless you were a pro chef.. |

As a chef I grind my knives regularly and use a diamond steel every day on them. As said before blunt equals less digits to use. And never use glass or granite boards. Fastest way to destroy your knives! Ps those stay sharp ones are pants vs good knives kept well imho . |

I just buy new knives, you can pickup a set of 5 Sabatier knives for £30, when I used to work in a carpet factory ever hour I would gicve the knife a quick rub with the oil stone. |

All you need is a tenon saw , a tarpaulin, bucket of acid and a gallon of quick lime. Heavy duty gauntlets and goggles advisable due to health and safety concerns |

For anyone who is contemplating it I was informed by a police inspector on Wednesday that the most undetectable way to commit murder is by hanging. Apparently, provided you create the right scenario, it is very hard to prove it was not suicide!!

I have Global knives and they need sharpening fairly regularly. They're bloody dangerous when they're sharp though! |

Yep avoid the ones made in china eg sabatier professional or judge. Just cheap knives. My good sabatier set has lasted years |
