Thursday rant time ......
Does anyone else get wound up by peoples lack of pavement manners ?? So many are in such a rush to get where they are going they have no regard for others walking etc ??
I have seen women with pushchairs have to stop and get out of others way ! Old people hustled around by groups of youngsters who arent looking where they are going !
Personally im old school and will always take the outside route for a woman / older person / women with kids etc as i think its the polite thing to do.
But so many just dont give a shit and actually totally ignore you or expect you to move out the way for them !
People that walk in groups of 3 etc astride the pavement expecting you to move for them is another pet hate !
Perhaps they should start teaching pavement manners in schools.
Maybe its just a sign of the times but its so annoying when all it takes is a few steps and some manners and we could all get where we want to be |

I agree! I often wonder why I'm the one who has to move out of the way when out walking!
I'm a new mum and often walk round on the road with my pushchair just because couples don't want to walk in single file past me x |

I understand walking on the outside and your child on the inner. My partner walks on the outside when walking with me also.
BUT my real annoyance is when dicks park their cars half on pavement and expect me to walk on road especially with a buggy. Sod that if your car gets scratched it YOUR FAULT |

Worse than that are those who just blindly and nonchalantly walk all over the place, oblivious to the rest of the world and just assuming YOU will make way for THEM because they're on their bloody phone.
Or, even worse...
reading a f**king book!!!!!
Grinds my gears it does almost as much as yummy mummies meeting up with other yummy mummies and taking their entire bloody brood into a coffee shop were they allow them to run around all over the place like demented rats and all the while under the threat of people walking about with SCALDING HOT LIQUID!!!! |

I almost got hit by a cyclist yesterday. He was cycling on the pavement towards me, I shifted to the side to let him pass, he shifted to the same side. The look I got! Shouldn't be cycling on the pavement anyway. |

Cyclists on pavements is really annoying !! Especially if i have to move for them !! And then get a dirty look like im in the wrong !
It just makes me wonder where peoples manners have gone ?? I will always hold a door open or let a pushchair through etc, yet i have done this and watched as some ignorant runt push straight through !!

See i have no problem moving out of the way for a mother and child, however when the whole pavement is taken up by 2 of them and no effort is made whatsoever to make a little room i find that inconsiderate, like i have to walk on the road and risk my life cos you cant be bothered to move over a foot grrrr !! |

I'm fairly lucky most just get out of the way. If they don't I stop, so that they either walk round me, or into me. Depending on the sex of the person, if they walk into me, usually depends on how I react - gosh I've just realised, i'm sexist |

We where in Weston once having some food in the front patio of a restaurant.
So a boy racer comes by music blaring etc, then his mate in the passenger seat throws an empty can out the window blatantly with no regard whatsoever.
What came next was brilliant ! Some guy with his famiy saw it happen so picked up the can ran up to the car and threw it straight into the passenger lol !!
Not the best idea but was funny to watch lol |

They're not allowed on pathways. Our local police fine anyone they catch.
£50 a time for each issue.
My mate got done for £150 just before xmas. No lights, on a pavement and no helmet.
Doesn't help the cycle routes around here aren't actually enforceable by the police,so they told her anyway. So the safest place is the pathways but she always gives way. |

Yes!! I've taught the kids that if it's someone older than them approaching us we get in single file and to the inside of the pavement.
If it's someone with a baby or a small child, we get in single file at the road side because they are more vulnerable and need to be on the safest side of the pavement.
Also taught them that if people won't get in single file, don't ever step into the road to get round them. Just stand still and then they will move! Grrrrr |

Yes they still do where i live and i find it worse when the children are at school than in the holidays. Several times i have seen it happen and told them only to get abuse back. But you are in your right to take photos of the dog in action and owner to report them!! |

School run time does my head in as the same old parents constantly walk on the road when the path is empty and at times I have to stop and wait until they decide to use the path and then they have the cheek to turn around and abuse me and yes they know im there, one day im going to drive along the path !!!
The other thing that really annoys me is when people decide to stand in the middle of a busy path and have a chat, bugger off elsewhere!! |

You are wrong... all it takes is some spikey things... pushchairs with blades on the wheels will be given space, leather jackets with 70's style spikes would stop people stopping without giving breaking space to those behind, and walking sticks in the spokes stops cyclists from hogging the pavement...
it's not manners we need it's war I tells ya war |

This is one of the reasons I am glad I don't often do the school run at the 'normal' time, more often we go for 8am. If we go at normal time, like we did today - and today was a hoods up hats on chucking it down kind of day - you get people walking right behind you treading on your heels, instead of saying 'excuse me'. With hood up and rain blowing in my face and a busy main road to one side, I can't really tell there's someone wanting to pass us unless they say excuse me! But no they'd rather walk on top of us, tut and roll their eyes. |

An uncle Canada always says he knows when it's a visitor to Canada walking as they don't observe the walking rules. I can't remember his rules but the side of the road for direction (like driving lanes) was in there. |

"Related to pavement mannners, are the ignorant ****wits who park across dropped kerbs.
Aint it allowed if theres no car on the drive?"
I wasn't talking about the driveways to houses, but dropped kerbs at road crossings. Near us, there's a dropped kerb at the entrance to the road which a load of ****s park across to "pop into" the parade of shops alongside. Which can mean an 800 metre detour for anyone like MrsJ who uses a power scooter. It's double yellowed, but since it's never enforced.
