"Will Man utd turn the tie around tonight,i fancy a 3-0 home win, sorry sunderland "
I agree. An all Manchester final would be good. Seeing city take Sunderland apart though would be entertaining too.

If over the last 20 years, Sunderland had enjoyed the success of Man U, do you think there would be be more 20+30somethings that would support the Black Cats than Man U? Would Sunderland FC sell more prawn sandwiches than meat pies?
I like the type of footy Man U have played, but I am enjoying watching all the glory hunters sulking now!
I reckon Man U will go through... I just hope they dont |

Sunderland fan here.
Everything seems to be going in our favour with Man U suspensions, injuries and current form but it only takes 2 or 3 of their player to be at 100% to beat us. But they haven't done that all season yet.
However our game suits a team coming at us. We are incapable of breaking sides down unless they leave holes at the back. Hence we have beaten most of the top 6 sides this season and failed to beat those who sit back and defend.
I fancy a draw. So SAFC to go through. But than I would say that. |

"Don't matter who wins, city will probably win anyway."
i can see them turning the tie, albeit only by just enough, can see a 2-0, but if there isnt new faces in this window, they will be humbles by the might of the freight train that is Citeh this season |

The whole country is behind us tonight.
I can't wait I'm sooooo excited and almost wetting my pants in anticipation
But I'm half expecting us to do our usual thing of giving the fans some expectation only to rip the rug out from under our feet. Xx |

Can't believe I'm watching Utd at Old Trafford right now.
Even in Ferguon's poorer years with worse players they were still good to watch and dangerous going forward. |

"I'm a gooner but what the duck.sad days for manu."
I genuinely feel sorry for Moyes.
He was man enough to follow in the footsteps of Sir Alex. What a hard job he's took on.
Things will turn around for him. Not this season but given time he'll be successful.
The smaller clubs like Arsenal and Man City will no doubt be loving it |

"Ha ha ha bye bye Mr Moyes !!! "
And there you have modern footie in one post.
A run of a few games lost and sack the manager. Ferguson's start in that job was hardly glorious. But then, managers back then were allowed to grow. Far too much money and far too high expectation these days.
Thank Christ I love rugby. Six nations yeay xxxx |

"What are the odds on Man Utd winning the CL
33 to 1. Which means if you bet £50 on them you will lose £50 "
Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool have all had a poor season, finished 5th/6th in the league and still won the champions league. So it is possible. However I am not holding my breathe. |

"man u missed 4 pens..
thats bad..
almost sad
Didn't England do that against Portugal?
not sure tbh..
remind me was that in the Euro's or the World cup..?"
Euros I would guess. Think Hargreaves was the only one to score.
The amount of penalty shootouts England end up in vs the amount of times England play Portugal in knockout stages has kind of all melded together in my head too. |

"I do genuinely feel sorry for the Man U fans, its gonna feel like a long drive back to Surrey tonight. "
Said it for several years. Crapbeck and rafael are over rated and over paid. Why is everyone focusing on bring in a left back, when it shows the right back needs replacing |

Glazers have stripped $1 billion out of the club over the last 8 years - no more needs to be said
Genuinely hope we get knocked out of the champions league
And don't qualify in 4th
Get rid of the glazers and get our club back ! |

I've wondered about that, if the Glazers were to sell up how would Utd's finances look at that point?
The whole putting the club into debt to buy it deal has never made sense to me. |

Hey we accept we're crap and won't win every major tournament after we get a decent win in qualifying.
Feel free to join us on planet earth some time, it is far less disappointing. |

Waaaaahahahahahahahahahaha
Being a Sunderland fan normally means disappointment at every opportunity but tonight I'm going to celebrate like it's the millennium again. We'd lost it then won it then lost it the won it and lost it and eventually won it and held on to it. A true roller coaster ride of a football match xx |

Clearly I don't. All the better for it. But you have to agree that there is questionable merit in this immediate gratification culture we seem to live in at the moment. |

When fergie took over united. They were a mid table team and not competing for anything. When he left they are competing for everything. Only needed a few players in midfield to start winning ways again. Although i admit the league is harder has you got several great sides instead of 2. Nonetheless if we had more classy midfielders we wouldn't be that far off. Now with no midfield as I feel flecture, carrick and januzai are doing all the work and with the ages of the first two players. Its no wonder why united have had a lot of bad results. If we don't finish 4th I can only see us slipping down the table and financially ruined. |

Clearly Moyes has had too many mediocre seasons with mediocre Everton, he's not the man for the job. Scumderland wanted it more. United have major confidence problems and too many injuries........Moyes' demanding training schedule??? was it expected that this season would be sacrificial following the change of managers? probably. it also lay on the shoulders of the 11 players on the pitch. welbeck played diabolically. hernandez was out of steam when he faced the keeper and one oncoming defender to slot home a goal he could have scored with his eyes shut. crap. they deserve to lose. Scumderland will no doubt lose to Shitty. both ways ......as a Newcastle supporter I'll be miffed with the outcome lol |

Get in!
The least shit team won on the night lol
Probably the worst penalty shoot out I have ever seen. I have never said the word 'Fuck!' so many times in such a short space of time.
We have a decent record against Citeh recently but I think most Sunderland fans are just glad we are there and will enjoy the day. If the final were being played at the SoL I would say it's a guaranteed 1-0 win to Sunderland as usual.
Apart from Januzaj and Smalling I thought Man U were incredibly poor. To concede 54% position at Old Trafford to a side with less than half your points in the league is alarming.
9,000 away fans there, a record in UK domestic competitions. We iz speshull. |
