hi everyone, as well as been on here as a pass time I am also looking to date again. There is a vanilla lady I'm really getting on with, we are meeting this weekend for a date! we are yet to decide on the time, we will certainly mest for a few hour in the evening but we are thinking of making it all afternoon as we are getting on so well.

I don't want to mess up and would like to give her a good time, I haven't been on many dates before and I'd love ideas of things we can do please! it will be in the York area too if that helps.

thanks!

Just don't ask her if she has a bi friend that might wanna join you.......

Other than that have fun!! Dating is great fun, I was notching up 2/3 a week on pof, just be yourself, take her d somewhere fun and always keep the conversation going and ask her loads about herself,

Betty's then a ghost walk. Hopefully she will get scared on it and cling on to you

Closer than you think

Just a church? If size is important, don't forget to tell her that its the largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe. And don't forget that the walk round the walls is scenic and free.

I can also recommend Mannions on Blake Street for coffee or lunch. The grub is as good as Betty's but you don't usually have to wait as long.

Go to the York Dungeon and see if she is scared and grabs you tight and won't let go.

some really good idea here everyone thanks, looking forward to more. I was always unsure about museums in case it bores them, but glad others have mentioned it. I like the idea of doing something like a walk, museum dungeons etc as it breaks the ice and your not just looking at each other across a table

If you do the jorvik Centre book in advance so you don't have to queue. You can even walk past and if there's a queue note the number off the door and call and book a timed ticket.

Oooh also people, I am really liking this lady, I struggle in communication skills when I don't know them too well.

I'd like to keep her interested so she is really excited about Saturday, so any convo tips and suggestion of things to ask would be great!

There's also the fudge place on petergate. They make it in front of you and most women like sweeties.

For food or drinks try the house of the trembling madness or the evil eye lounge both on stonegate. If you go to the evil eye try to get one of the big bed/sofas upstairs.

Thanks, never been to them they look great though! I didn't know they did food! Do you think a lady would be fine with the bed sofa things? She wouldn't feel too close or anything? Do they do food upstairs too, or are they to lounge after/before eating?

I am hopeless at dating ha! Only been on a few, then was in a relationship for 6yr and have spent a few alone since

You don't have to sit on her lap you know! And if it's going well you should be able to judge if it would suit her. It's a bit shabby but the food and the cocktails are good. The service might be a bit slow upstairs though.

Just out of curiosity as she is vanilla will you tell her about fab and continue with it if not its not good for any relationships starting off with deceit.

Am in now way criticising or judging far from it but i may be old school honest and openess is crucial.

The York Chocolate Story is good. You can share a chocolate fondue in the cafe before you go on the tour and see how chocolate is made/make your own. Ladies love choc

If we progress into a relationship I will no longer be on here, I am very respectful and never cheat. I am old fashioned too. When we talk about our sexual history I will be honest and sa I have tried this.

Assuming she isn't actually from York or she will already have done these but here goes:

A walk around the walls is good.

The Shambles.

Loads of great pubs.

Betty's but you might have to queue.

Walk down the river but might be a bit muddy this time of year.

Sightseeing bus.

I remember you first posting about confidence issues, your body and sexuality.

You post with more confidence and it is great you potentially have met someone.

That is fantastic

Thanks, I have grown a lot which is great. I still have some issues, but certain trauma's at an early age affect you a lot. There is still some things that are very hard for me, I do struggle to understand social situations, their true feelings and motives. sometimes kinda feels like I'm underwater trying t listen as strange as it's sounds, this is what I am battling with to try change, I just don't no how.

Firstly, I am delighted to hear that you had such a lovely time and I hope today is equally wonderful! The only advice I would offer, is take your time and enjoy the courtship. I know thats an old fashioned word nowadays but I am an old fashioned girl and believe in romance. I think the time to enter an 'exclusive relationship' will be when you both feel ready. It should be natural, not forced or pressured. You will both know when it feels right. There is no right or wrong time....good luck!!! And keep us posted on your lovely new romance!

you can, in the end we decided to make it up as we go along, however I had many suggested options in my head already

we ended up going for a coffee first, then we moved on and went to a quiet pub for a drink, we got on great had a good laugh. next thing we knew the hours had flown by! after I asked if she needs to get back or shall I take her somewhere else, she wanted somewhere else... so I took her to evil eye and got cocktails she was amazed at the skill they had making them and was impressed.... Oo and she offered to pay for this round! and wouldn't let me, another first for me when dating someone
