"Throw away your television
But how could I be outraged by news items, Jeremy Kyle and reality shows? "
You won't and then you'll be a happier person for it ... I think getting rid of my TV has added 50 years to my life expectancy |

Isn't it the expectation of the individual that's risen, rather than the quality suffering? To be fair it's mostly been pretty dire. Prove it to yourself and watch an episode of pretty much shying made 40 years ago. |

"Aside from J Kyle, soaps & shit like that; British TV is the best on planet earth ..........sorry if that depresses you!! "
That depends on what crap you like.
I always thought that German tv had very good programming.
Australia was good too apart from the adverts.
I used to be a tv addict.
still some great shows but catch up is the best. |

To be honest the majority of tv is dire, poor quality or just boring. Comedy, drama etc seem to have lost that draw that 70s/80s programmes had.
It's even more annoying since we have to pay a licensing fee for the drivel on bbc. |

My Mum watches a lot of television, she has very limited mobility having broken her back five years ago and despite having a lot of friends, a mobility scooter, large family and being a member of several groups and clubs there are still a lot of hours that reading and listening to the radio don't fill. Television is an excellent way for her to pass those hours, she loves some of the day time dramas and things like Call the Midwife I think telly has its uses. |
