Cod and chips usually but I always get disappointed with the chips. I think they are going to be yummy but I find they get stodgy and stick in my throat so I tend not to have fish and chips much.

Except when I'm in yarmouth. Have to have chips on yarmouth market. Best chips ever cooked in dripping!!!

Large cod, chips and mushy peas.

I recently went to our local chippy with Ruby, it was quite a fun experience. Everyone in there got dragged into a discussion about whether its a chip cob or a chip butty. I spose these things happen when you're in a relationship with a northener!

Rarely go to the local chippy but when we do, I ask for a portion of chips to be re-cooked so they're dark brown and crispy. Add a saveloy and I'm a happy bunny

Child-size cod and chips, a can of pop, batter bits, one mayo and one tartare sauce, open, with a plastic fork.

That's what I have every month since going to the chippy next door to my hair dresser's salon in 2006.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

"What would you recommend Lickety? "

As you ask, if I am getting a takeaway and I'm hungry then just haddock and chips with salt and vinegar. If I'm not so hungry then tempura prawns and I'll nick some chips from someone else.

Eating in it would depend on what they have on display but I do like to start with the pickled quails eggs. The last time I ate there I had monkfish and chips.

I also like Rock Salmon, however, it is special-order only at my regular chippy, and I seldom have the time to wait and it is too hot and big to eat within a short time.

I do not like vinegar on my fish and chips, never have, never will.

Finding good size chunks of batter bits in the tray makes me happy, great for dunking in mayo. Easily pleased, I know.

The plastic spoon I request is for the batter bits, as I prefer to each the fish and chips using my fingers.

I prefer to salt the fish and chips and batter bits myself.
