I think it's because they run from March to Feb each year. It doesn't matter when you start paying, they will calculate it up till the end of Feb and your new one will start on 1st March |

"28 the of march to 28th of Feb is 12 months. Its dated from 3rd of April, so its 6 days short of the 12 months
"
I read it that it runs out on the 28th Feb but was bought 3rd April so missing the 6 days you say plus all of march |

To answer the OP...
The way TV licenses are charged for is a fiddle, in my opinion. You can only buy full months, so even if you need one from 28th March, you'll pay for the entire of March.
So your 12 month licence covers March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, January and ends at the end of February.
Why it's dated April 3rd I have no idea. Phone them and ask them.
I think it's a total con charging for most of a month that you didn't need. |

Did you check if you'd been charged for a full 12 months?"
She will have been. TV Licencing only work in full months.
All the better to charge for days that aren't needed. |

Joke how it works here too. here in ireland every household has to have one regardless of having tv or not. Their argument being that everyone has access to tv channels either through tv, pc/laptop, tablet/mobile phone. Also regardless of day of purchase of license your paying from beginning of that month just like with the car tax. |

I explained it above. Yes, it's like car tax.You have to pay for entire months even if you only need it for part of the month. |
