How do you have yours?
I like mine "double dipped" in the toaster so they are very well done and crispy (almost burned).
I've recently stopped buying Warburton's because the new recipe crumpets are too big and fluffy and you can't get a good crunch on them.
One more thing I'm "anti" topping on crumpets other than butter- don't hate me for this.
Oh and why can't I get pikelets any more? Tescos, my local source of this most exotic member of the crumpet world, stopped selling them a few years ago. |

I've just had two for breakfast, well toasted but with a very thin layer of Nutella. I'm allowed crumpets on my Weigh Watchers diet who's is great as I cant eat too much bread anymore. |

Crumpets are best done under the grill and then drowned in butter
A thin sliver of cheese works well
Pikelets are the supermodels of the crumpet world
Skinny and look better dressed |

"The pikelets I used to buy were like wide, thin, flat crumpets. You could make them almost all crunch. Mmmmmmmmm"
If this is what I'm thinking of, they make them at Asda bakeries and call them scotch crumpets? |

Love crumpets cooked on an open fire.... and toast.... tastes so much better... Mmmm
As I live in a flat and the above isn't possible, I use toaster and either have just butter or jam, chutney, marmite, peanut butter or whatever else on top |
