Historically, politicians of some note have been absolute sods. Didn't stop them being effective in their position. What's changed is media coverage. 50 years ago, this would not have been in the news.
Also, the French, generally, don't seem to be as puritanical as we. |

Historically, politicians of some note have been absolute sods. Didn't stop them being effective in their position. What's changed is media coverage. 50 years ago, this would not have been in the news.
Also, the French, generally, don't seem to be as puritanical as we. "
Outwith Paris they are even more puritanical than the Brits but 1) they haven't been told till now and 2) they know not much will change. |

Yes. I'm not overly bothered about individual's morality (within the law) but when there's an attempt to impose it on others, that's unacceptable in my book. |
