I think he's quite amusing. I don't watch everythinghe does though. His end of 2013 newswipe thing was good.

Who are you comparing him to?

No one. I just dont find him funny. His fast rambly monotone talking is annoying. The 'bits' on the show I watched last night were just pathetic, I kind of felt sorry for the people doing them. It was like they were trying too hard to be funny

He got married, became happy and stopped being angry and sarcastic.

Lost his edge, now he's just going through the motions

He is painful to watch, imo, and deserves to be put to rest.

Even the ad for his show is annoying, when he says 'please watch or me saying all of thatwould have bbeen pointless' - really really not funny!! Makes me want gobsmacked him the mouth, not watch his show

I learned something yesterday, that Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) is 1 half of a double act with Joe Wilkinson.

Havent watched it for ages then saw it last night. It was generally good. A few misses but good entertainment. I missed the videogame one. Will check it out.

Black Mirror was Ok from what I saw too.

I found it funny.

I guess it depends on your sense of humour and if you understand Charlies comedy.

Doug, Barry, Philomena are all ace.

Watched a Stanhope stand up last night. His humour's seriously dark. I bet most people would think it's disgusting and call the daily mail if they watched him.

Haven't seen the first series but the second series was shit.

You should check out these that Charlie had a hand in:

Dead Set-zombies and big brother

Nathan Barley- good comedy he did.

It is high brow satire, with occasional toilet humour, not everyone will get it. Some people read the mirror, others like the Times.

I read neither and it certainly isn't high brow. It's just him slagging off people on tv!!

And that's funny. If you don't like/get his humour, don't watch. It's that simple.

He used to do a thing online called TV Go Home, a spoof Radio Times listing, that used to be hilarious.

I think he's great and have always loved his journalism and satire. Particularly the wipe shows. Dry and cutting. His delivery is at just the right level of disdain for the subject matter.

Love his parodying of the way media works and the way TV works these days.

Barry Shitpeas and Philomena Cunk are the perfect examples of the talking heads TV shows bring on to comment on things they know fuck all about.

And her section at the end is a scarily good portrayal of how inane some shows are and how dumb people are getting.

I think he has mellowed slightly since fatherhood and marriage, but does that not happen to everyone?

brooker is an irony .... he's a career journalist who makes a living out telling people what to think .... the format he uses to do this is a show that criticises journalists for telling people what to think
