Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
Apart from the odd lottery ticket when its a rollover I have never gambled ever.
There used to be a fruit machine in the NAAFI at work with £100 top prize. Watching the Ghurkhas putting in their money until they won then putting it all back in again was an education. |

In times of desperation and depression, you will find more advertising bingo, poker etc.
Think there was a documentary about it and people get hooked on losing. That's where the thrill is.
And can be addictive, best saying no in the 1st place |

I play online syndicate lottery games for lotteries in the US, UK and Europe, and spend about 10 GBP a week.
I may get an extra line or two from time to time if there is a multi rollover.
If and when I buy the odd scratch card, I would pocket the winning, even if it is just a quid.
I like to participate in sweep stakes for the Grand National, World Cup, and other big sporting events.
That's about it.

I posted something up a few days ago about having a gambling problem. There does not seem to be much support from Gamcare! Its just the realisation you will loose and you could loose more than money! One day at a time. |

Do a fair bit tbh, but all for fun. Nothing more than I can afford and I know when to turn away.
Put £8 in the machines on the way home from work and walked out with £20.
I've seen people next to me blow £000's on a spin at Roulette and walk out empty handed. Then theres me next to them playing Blackjack for £1 a hand |

Fair play .you may just do that got yo be in it to win it.
Thing with gambling is you start chasing, done it many of time on the fruits, I've put hundreds in a week sometimes.
Got my college grant and missed trains home coz I loved it.
then I used to watch people put loads of money in and the next person wins it
Felt quite sad because of it.
nought wrong with the odd lottery though although we don't do it.

"No I don't as I've been part of the pain with someone I know having had a gambling problem....I try and avoid it at all costs.."
Snap! I had an ex who probably blew minimum £10,000 over the years. Am tempted to double that figure.
Fruit machines, bookies are all the devils spawn. As is online bingo. They suck you in & you lose control
I actually once dumped a bloke I'd been seeing for a couple of months when he finally told me he and a friend gambled for a living.

Kerry Packer was a big time gambler. One night an American was in the casino bragging how rich he was. Packer offered the guy to bet what he was worth. If packer lost he would have paid up double what the yank was worth...Apparently the yank shut up and left...
But then Packer was happy to lose a million in a night..... |
