Punishment for no-show time-wasters.

Can anyone think of anything, within the rules of Fabswingers, that can be done to remove the cancer of timewasters who agree to meet, keep saying they are going to be there and then fail to show without warning or excuse.

I would say remove there accounts and block there IP address you must be able to do that surely with today's technology.

Problem is proving you arranged it and they didnt show if we had a name n shame page it could end up people just being malicious

This is a sex site, it is not sunday school, It is up to you to select your dates with care, no one but you is responsible for timewasting.

It is a site for displaying people, with the forums you have a chance to get to know what people write.

If you want someone to hold your hand through the selection process, it aint going to happen.

Meets are about risk, safety, health, danger, fun, no one but you can be responsible for that.

The messages you just mentioned would tell me you were chatting to a wanker..

so I would know he had no intention of meeting, he has full balls and just wants safe sex, behind his keyboard. whilst wife is downstairs watching east enders.

If you've arranged to meet people I'd guess you have their number and email address.... There are lots of ways to extract revenge with those bits of information.

I understand all about pick better but that, with respect, does not answer the question that was asked.

These people exist. Most members have suffered at some stage. Is there anything that can be done about removing them? If we can find a reasonable and reliable way then perhaps the moderators may consider it.

I understand that there could be vindictive few who would "forget" a legitimate cancellation.

What we are seeking is a solution to those who agree to come up to the last minute and them no show without cancelling. It is just ill mannered. If they were buying your car. You were going to teach them to play guitar or something and they went out before you got there then you would be rightfully annoyed.

It is ill-mannered - do we want that in here? Does a love of sex mean rudeness and ill manners are an acceptable part of peoples behaviour?

I think there should be some sort of reporting system. If you are a no show and get reported you get a warning if it happens twice you are on probation and if it happens three time you are removed from the site and blocked from rejoining and if you get caught rejoining you get named and shamed by admin.

And what happens if I happened to have a grudge against you for whatever reason? I submit a report to admin, and then I go bitch with my mates about it and they too put in a report about you.

3 unsubstantiated reports because you have pissed me off about something (probably something stupid knowing me!) and your profile is deleted and you can't get on the site .....

And just how do you propose to police that? How exactly do you prove they are a no-show? What if they don't show but have an excuse? Who determines how good that excuse is?

Its a frustrating part of life on here but it happens. Admin can only police what happens on the site and have no control over what happens off it. I always meet local people and always socially first for several reasons but if they decide to no show I just finish my drink while pestering some poor bloke at the bar and go home!!

I had 2 no shows both with contact day before by mobile texting, saying they were still meeting. both noshows. one sort of had a valid reason other one well no comment both were verified for meeting up. Everyone's time is precious but it's not easy to tell who is a timewaster and who isn't

I've been on and off here for nearly four years and I've never had a no show. I've only had one last minute cancellation but as I'd not left the house there was no harm done. I wouldn't even call that time wasting but we're all different.

A bit of common sense goes a long way on Fab. Phone chat, social meet then if it all goes ok, have fun!

For a timewaster to be successful all they require is someone who allows their horn to rule their head sufficiently to let common sense and a simple 'rulebook' approach to interacting virtually with total strangers go out the window in the pursuit of an orgasm not induced by their own hand.

And as it seems there's plenty of people (singles AND couples) of that mindset - the timewasters will continue.

If you don't allow yourself to fall prey - there's no time to be wasted!

I rarely meet I admit and it does annoy me when something has been arranged and it is still my precious time be it social or more!

On each occasion I have been stood up I have reported the male account holder to Admin and I presume the account gets blocked and they are issued some warning or time length...

These instances have ALL been when the guy has picked time and date

There is no way to eradicate it completely but by doing nothing - even if it is reporting to Admin - it can never even start to improve.

They change. i.e your IP will be different each time you log on to FAB, therefore blocking an IP would be less than useless.
