where do you draw the line?
this has came around after sittin earlier with my nephews age 19 and 22 and they were discussing a woman in the pub last nite who they said "she was 1661" i asked them what they meant and said from the back she looked young with the way she was dressed till she turned round!
when does a woman cross the line between fashionable and ridiculed?? xx |

I don't think there are any set rules, but when you see mutton dressed as lamb, you kust know that's what it is
It's one of those things that 'you just know' |

I dress my age and size. My daughters have yet to say you're not wearing that!
My daughters are young and trendy what they wear would look ridiculous on me so why would I make myself a laughing stock?!!
That said my daughter and I do have the same ruffled shirt...I had mine first lol!
At the end of the day I may not wish to dress like a member of Girls Aloud, but if some other old girl wants to rock the look, nowt to do with me! |

My mum is 65 she always dresses lovely )apart from slobbbing or walking the dog) What she wears i would guess anyone from 35 upwards would wear, nice jeans, nice tops, she shops at places like next ect. Facially she looks about 55. She rarely wears makeup.
Now if you was to put a 65 year old woman face packed in makeup, clothes that shes got from some shop that caters for under 25yrs, the fake orange tan then i would describe her as mutton dressed as lamb |

I am not afraid of wearing a short skirt out, and my attitude is, what ever I feel comfortable in is what I wear.
I don't care what anyone else thinks.
As it could be 50 / 50 with how I look.
the be all and end of it is every one has different tastes.

"I avoid anything that is too tight, too short, and anything that I consider as cheap and tacky. "
Sounds like one or two guys I have met...they were short, tight (as a ducks arse) and ever so cheap and tacky... |

I reckon as long as a woman looks good and can get away with it she should go for it.
I've seen loads of lasses in their teens and twenties who look a right mess in outfits that some women twice their age would look better in. R

I used to work with someone that had beautiful nails. hair all done and dyed blonde down her back...
Wore very expensive trouser suits and nice shoes...
She was also very slim....
Trouble was.........
She had spent so much time in the sun, her face look like crepe paper...
Like a wrinkled prune and if the guys used to wolf whistle etc...
They didnt half get a shock when she turned round. lmao

when my parents were together my mum lost a lot of weight and so went on a massive shopping spree for a new wardrobe, short skirts, fitted tops etc - dad was not to happy with the new slim mum and so walked round behind her in the shop baa'ing like a sheep
safe to say they were not together too long after that |

"i think that in a free country its cruel to criticise people without knowing them deep enough to do so accurately "
In an ideal world that is true but we don't live in an ideal world do we, and people are judgemental about everyone to a degree: couples about single men being timewasters, bbws being desperate saddos who'll shag anything, single mums and their ferile children being the canse of all socities woes, old women dressing like their teenage daughters mutton dressed as lamb!
Unfair world, untrue comments, but there is something we ALL do, whether we acknowledge it or not. |

Karen dresses as you would any other perfectly respectable 50 year old business woman to dress.
But at party's its another thing altogether. All the women dress in the skimpiest sexiest clothing they have, it doesn't matter whether they are 16 or 61. Short skirts and seethru tops and stockings are hard on inducing to any guy in such a situation regardless of age. |

Ones dress sense can change with age.
Theres no reason older ladys should not dress sexy. I will often see ladys 55+ who look fantastic , sexy and well dressed. On the other hand i see some "mutton /lamb" types out on a sat night.
i dress more classic and covered up as i have got older. I used to go out clubbing in hot pants , bra tops and the like when i was 18/19. I would look silly in the same now, although i dress sexy , but not in an overtly tarty way.
I prefer the pencil skirt/seamed stockings and heels look these days , rather than mini dress n bare legs. If i still had the figure i did at 18 i may be different though!
if youve got it flaunt it |

how sad! I just hope that at 61 I can be mistaken for a 16yo from behind.
if iit feels good do it, and if small minded youngsters dont like it so what! |
