ok i turned ians comm on this morning and instead of the box for password it just said preparing network connections ,but nothing happening after that . what do i do now ? donnax |

Ahhh thats an easy fix...
Maybe best if I popped over Mmmm,
I always turn everything off at the mains.. leave it 10 mins and boot up again .. normally fixes it!
If not.. I'll pop over lol..

Failing that try booting in safe mode only and adding services one by one till you see what is causing the issue...
Or.. do a system restore from the boot page... |

turned off the mains didnt work still the same  any other ideas he can try them when he gets home from work lol i aint messing with it anymore pmsl he says im a jinx on his comm as it is |

Well it sounds like the pc is looking for a network, and since it doesn't sound like you are on a network it could well be a virus.
Start the machine in safe mode by tapping the f8 key (or f9 or f12 key, i forget) as the machine starts. Select safe mode and ensure that if you have broadband, that the ethernet cable is disconnected.
Now run whatever anti virus software you have.

If you dont know much about pcs ,its like trying to teach someone to disarm a bomb or talk em down flying a 747 with no experience hun ...leave it alone ....till he comes home ,cus at least at the moment your not far away from the problem
