"Not seen a proper make you think, and pooh your pants one in a while. What's your fave? Eden lakes pretty good."
Horror is my favourite genre. I couldn't possibly choose... It's so hard I'll have to say Strangers of the top of my head! Chills. |

The scene in the cafe when the kids slash their parents throats with farming tools was pretty hardcore for me when I was about 8... |

"The saw films. It's the sound of bones crunching and breaking and the sound of that pendulum saw that freaks me out rather than the gore itself x"
Yeah must admit I loved the saw films, although I'm not into zombies and blood and gore. It was more the mind games that drew me to saw. |

I prefer the true to life horrors. I find them more scary if I think they can actually happen or are a true story. The ghost ones don't really scare me. |

No, Piper Laurie played the mother in the original and Sissy Spacek played Carrie. |

I adore horror, but again, haven't seen one that scared me since I first watched Childs Play when I was 6.
I have Switchblade Romance, but haven't got around to watching it yet, also Mum & Dad isn't a bad film.
I still love watching the Childs Play series, basically watching them back to back, gradually getting worse and worse! Same with the Nightmare on Elm Street series. |

I love the horror genre and ghost stories where you don't always see the "thing" but it`s just left to your imagination.
I have a clown phobia so Steven Kings "It" was scary enough to read let alone watch the film when they made it

The Wicker Man is my favourite film.
Christopher Lee has said that of all the films he's been in that was his favourite - and he didn't get paid for it. |

We both love horror in both books and on screen; one of our faves from last year was 'Cottage in the Woods'; a real twist on the classic Evil Dead.
For reading go for the trilogy by Mira Grant; FEED, DEADLINE and BLACKOUT and the five books by Richard Kadrey Sandman Slim, Kill the Dead, Aloha from Hell, Devil said Bang and Kill City Blues; start one of either author and you will not put it down, you'll also be heading back to the bookshop to buy the others in the series.

Horror films aren't really scary anymore
Just made annemarie watch all the saw series ... Just knowing that could really happen is a bit more scary !
Remember tales of the unexpected as a kid

Recent horrors have mainly been shit. The Evil Dead remake, The Conjuring, American Mary-were all good.
Too many "jump scares". And it's obvious when they're coming when the music ramps up.
Ones I do like:
Trick R Treat
La Horde
28 days later
Switchblade romance
Frontiers
Candyman
Alien |

"Spitting image used to freak me out as a kid "
Me too , got my mum to tape it for me as a kid as it was in too late , but once I watched it ....whoa ...gave me nightmares for weeks , always always hated the Maggie thatcher puppet ....those eyes just scared the crap outta me , the nightmare was them chasing me and trying to eat me alive ....lol |

Leslie hates horror but I love them. Have to watch on my own because the kids won't watch either which adds to the suspense and tension.
Drag me back to hell was enjoyably by Sam raimi(evil dead) and what I though was a remake that turned out to be a prequel The Thing. Holy shit. I watched alone in my bedroom lights off surround sound on and I was pinned to the bed in fright at some if that pmsl. Love a good horror |
