It might have been to check you weren't there to buy for someone underage if they were refused. Who know?

Store bosses have no sense. They force employees to ask all customers who are with each other if just one seems to be underage. I just ask the person who is underage and then if they haven't got any. I just refuse the sale, even if the mate try's buying. I'd still refuse it. I would never ask a woman in their forties for ID  . Basically a customer has to look 25. If they don't ID has to be shown. Doesn't matter if you're in your 20s. Sadly common sense is going down in this sort of thing  |

I bought a bottle of wine the other day on the way to a meet and was praying to god that I wouldn't get id'd. Then again looking back it would have been funny seeing their face when I showed them my driving license. |

It pisses me off in the supermarkets when you get served by someone underage, who then shouts to a supervisor ten tills down to verify my age. And by looking at the back of my head they shout "yeah put it thru'"

When there's too many people saying out loud that certain pubs/clus are full of kids and that's why they don't go there. (I admit I am guilty of this too). Its only those places that ask me for ID now and again. That's when word of mouth reaches them of what people think of the place. |

I went to a nilla club with the guys from work before Xmas. They were asking everyone for id, when they got to me I just looked at him and asked if he really needed to see mine.  |

Underage checkout staff are not permitted to sell alcohol to anyone without the approval of a supervisor so it might not be verifying your age that they are shouting about!!

All my daughters get asked for id and they're 22, 26 and 31. I'm still smarting at being asked twice in 24 hours by the paramedics and my so called boyfriend if the canvas in my dining room was a picture of my daughters and I. I'm 53, the two other people were my sisters: 44 and 47! |

Twenty years ago a boyfriend saw a glam photo of my mother and said it was the best picture he had ever seen of me.
On my sister's birthday a man in the pub said I must be proud of my daughter. She's only 19 months younger.  |

Been buying booze since I was 13 or so (I'd go to the shop for my parents) then a bit older and I'd occasionally have a sneaky drink myself and never got iDd. Until last year when I got asked for ID buying a bottle of wine, which I had to leave as I don't have any photographic ID. I then got asked a few days later when buying a bloody lottery ticket. Shecchanged her mind when she saw my utter disbelief! |
