Fab at least you know everyone is looking for the same thing...tried the Ayi thing on fb....most are a bunch of loons....and wouldn't know honesty if it smacked them in the face  |

I sorta worry about people that use facebook for sexual reasons...add me add me, so I can msg ur hot pal,sister,mother etc etc...
yet I have a good number of friends from here and other sites(from 2007), who have really no inclination to use facebook for getting meets.....and u dont see them adding in people they dont know or havent ever met most of the time.
An ex(from here),even had a guy post on her facebook wall "up for an MMF 2nite".... |

To answer the op I can't imagine using it for sexual meets: it's exclusively for family and friends. I used it for posting photos when I travelled to Morocco on my own. My family were worried. The pictures put their mind at ease and provided them with amusement.
Never had a problem on Fab. I'm dating someone I met via Fab.  |

to be honest I only read ur OP as saying theres more action on facebook than there is on here...a bit self reflective, and not very true in my case and many others..
sometimes I see the odd male profile on facebook..even possibly with the fab username..often they dont have a pic and appear to have lots of 'friends' that look like webcam girls,pornstars,page3....etc etc etc
and no family members,friends from school etc etc |

I only have friends and family on my facebook, I dont add anyone I dont know as theres photo's of my kids and family, only people on my friends list can see anything I put on there, for me facebooks just another way of keeping in touch with them and nothing else |

For me they are two separate entities.
Facebook ~ to keep in touch with family & friends, share photos, arrange nights out with the girls.
Fabs ~ for the kinda fun I don't want from my Facebook friends!! |

Oh i got your point, the messaging system is better to communicate on fb i suppose. Here its like an email system . There its instant. My neice is always using fb to make dates etc. I think its an age thing really. The older you are, the less likely you are to use facebook etc. well thats my spin anyways |

The FaceBook platform should not be used to vet potential mates. FB is used by an ever growing younger population. I have children who are under the age of consent who use FB. The thought that someone is actively seeking play mates is quite disturbing.
Stick to Fabs for that where everyone is of age and like minded. |

But there are chat facilities on Fab, though I agree, it would be nice to have a more user friendly live chat facility But, once you have made initiial contact on here you can take it to whatever chat medium you prefer (unless you're like me and everything is crashing at the moment!)
The forums are a far more public forum than any facebook group and more like the old newsgroups. |

When I said 'minority' I meant in terms of the amount of teenagers who use Facebook. The number of teenagers who use it are the majority. It's a young platform. Hence why seeking sex seems out of place.

I'm a little confused now. Correct me if I'm wrong but in your original post you seem to be suggesting facebook is more successful for you in terms of meets than here but you then say all your friends on there are just that and not sexual contacts. I assume you need to be friends to communicate with people on there? I'm not on it and know little about it so excuse my ignorance if this is not the case. |
