so i see the military helicopter crashed yesterday evening, sorry that the 4 man crew all died, BUT, after seeing their antics in it yesterday afternoon over the lincolnshire fens it was an accident waiting to happen.
they were flying VERY low and VERY fast, at times skimming just above house/treetop height, and at one point, was doing a slalom through the windmills at a local wind farm, utter madness it was and from what everyone around here saw, the pilot (if he had not crashed) would hopefully have been seriously reprimanded, it went on over our area for over an hour |

Incident in north yorkshire a few years ago.. only the co pilot survived and disabled now. thjey have to train to fly combat style.
there were a few critisms over the handling of the helecopter being flown dangerously that crashed in north yorks. i think they can go too far with training.
(flown in them and it's bloody hairy).
being a black hawk was it american?

 of course its dangerous, it prepares them for combat operations? Sad loss. |

sad that 4 people have lost their lives, however they as others have said need to train for environments where someone is waiting to take them out if they dont use certain tactics..
contour flying whilst dangerous is also necessary
having said that wit this incident its still only speculation, the facts will emerge with time.. |

Gravity took over. Initial investigation has said neither gearbox failed. Full report in due course. Speculation is exactly that.....proves nothing until the facts are presented |

I cannot believe I have just read this absoloute nonsense. Less than 24 hrs and chinese whispers about a fuel.guage. The pilot knows how much fuel he has and plans his mission accordingly. Flight times are calculated with a time cushion for redirects/ weather conds etc. My flabber is gasted.

Firstly I think the fuel gauge is in reference to the Glasgow police helicopter crash .
Secondly the pilot knows how much fuel he has requested if he's refueling but if the aircraft has been fueled a faulty gauge on either tanker or aircraft will cause problems |

. Your lucky you don't live right next to a camp with aircraft!!! I do and don't mind one bit how fast or low they fly. They have to train to do the job!! The way your comment came across as if it's the pilots fault which none of us know, it could quite well have been technical fault. |
