Question about race preference...

Im having to put this on here as I get asked this question too many times after they see my pics... "what race are you" "are you foreign". I get messages compimenting my profile then i get asked this. if you like the look of my pics then should it really matter what you're background is wether you be White, black, Asian or mixedraced.... I personally would think they should look in to a persons character after they have seen pics and are interested. I respect people's preferences but complimenting what you see and then being put off because you're background is a little narrow minded. |

Yeah, that's happened to me a few times. But, at the end of the day you just deal with it. And it's not like your losing out or anything...
...they've seen my picture and so forth. And everythings going well and they show an interest. And then, when they ask about my race and i give them an answer. Then, it's 'oh sorry, we don't play with your kind' - mind you, this was a while back.

Lol @ "sexytoysareus" you totally missed the point. Sexual preferences are fine, no one should have a problem with it but showing plenty of interest on what they see then finding out about you're background and then changing you're attitude is a little narrow minded. If I found someone attractive I'd look at the character next not ask if they are full black or White. |

Maybe people are just curious, i havnt met many foreign people, i have met two black men on here because they seemed nice and friendly, not too serious, so before i met them i asked them if they were born in this country and they said yes. |

Is that the reason they give? Sometimes people chat and any little thing might change their mind. Some people might ask just out of interest and to make conversation.
Still seems rude to ask though. Think if it was me I wouldn't reply to them. Would you want to meet someone that thought that way? |

Be thankful. If somebody is pathetic enough to show interest in you until the moment they can pigeon-hole you by ethnicity, they're hardly going to be the kind of company you'd like anyway. |

I can see where OP is coming from. Think the point he's making is if you have an attraction to someone or they catch your eye, why would you then worry yourself with things like ethnic origin etc.
Easier said that done I know, particularly where religion is involved for example.

Well I don't mind telling anyone about my ethnicity. I don't lie about it... Could you imagine if someone asked me and I lied and said I just have a tan then after sex told her I'm actually half Turkish. It could traumatise someone for life. I think it's best to be honest
I'm not attacking anyone here for having sexual preferences. All I'm saying is if you look at someone's pics and think I fancy him or her and then change you're attitude because he has something in his blood which you may think isn't pure, is narrow minded.

I was shocked and upset after turning down a guy after seeing his face pic (not floating my boat) to then be questioned by him if I was racist etc. I was gobsmacked. If he had read my verfis and knew anything about me he would have never had asked.
I did delete report and block but was quite amazed. I turned him down as didn't find him attractive at all and his messages up to then were beginning to annoy me.

Ok, here's a simple fact... Many women who will go with a black man will not go with an Asian. Some will only go with black men of Afro Caribbean heritage and not African.
The reason some of you are declined is from your pictures you may be mixed race black/white but once it's established you are of Asian heritage they are no longer interested.
People will post along the lines of "It shouldn't matter about the colour of a persons skin" or "I go for the personality" and to that I say just because we use a site that's primary purpose is for us to have sex with strangers (still a stranger after a coffee and a chat) it doesn't mean that peoples prejudices will be left at Fab's virtual door.
Just accept that your skin tone and heritage are not desirable to some, more on.
Oh, these prejudices don't normally apply to males when it comes to getting their leg over. |

I'm not really asking anything. I was trying to make the point that some prejudices are more refined than simply black or white. So perhaps we should all put details of our ancestry, just to be certain that people can be comfortable they won't be accidentally fucking the wrong sorts. |

I am upfront about what I am, and if peeps don't like it, it is their problem, not mine.
I have only been rejected by one man due to my race, and he was not from FAB.
A couple of weeks later, he made a pass at me again in the adult chatroom I frequent at the time, and I reminded him about his previous rejection, before blocking him for good.

Maybe some people have had experiences with mixed race/Asian/black/polish or whatever race they dont want to have sexual contact with?
Personally I like playing with black guys but not Asian guys, that is my choice and it isnt being rasict/rude/predudice or whatever people have being calling it. |

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with being asked what race you are if it's not obvious, I mean if you meet someone in a bar and get talking you'd ask out of interest and to make conversation no? Unless that's just me and I'm interested in knowing more about other cultures (and nosey too!). I get asked what my race is all the time, don't mind saying at all and usually get a very positive response as there aren't many Asian women on the site and quite often I get told that they've always been curious about Asian women. However with that all being said if someone was getting on with me, was interested, had regular communication and then stopped purely on the answer I give them about what race I am then my god they'd get a piece of my mind! That's just rude and plain ignorant, narrow minded racism...I agree on each to their own preference wise as everyone's tastes are different but if you have pictures, get along with them and they're like minded then race shouldn't be an issue...I think preconceived thoughts/ideas make people think twice with certain races which is a damn shame |

Can go both ways...I was sent a pic tonight and replied that he was not my type and wished him well....he replied insinuating I had rejected him becsuse he was black ....I didnt I simply didnt find his face attractive irrespective of its colour! |

Exactly. There are some "races" where I can't decided what race they are, yet I would say they're attractive. So apart from people with white skin. I find others attractive, but I don't know what race they are and maybe this person is he same. |

Do the people that are curious about people's ethnicity ever ask white people where they're from? Ever check to see if they're Aussie/Canadian/French?
There are so many profiles that state no Blacks/no Asians that it's understandable why somebody might assume if somebody asks that they're not doing so out of an interest in their cultural heritage.
On the other hand they might be asking because they really want to fuck a Black Eskimo - that would be a 'preference'. |

It would make it easier. I rarely go to swinging parties now for this reason. Clubs and meeting friends but not parties where I don't know every other person/couple attending as I don't like finding out someone I liked is a dickhead who would prefer the new cunt to being honourable and sticking to the invitation already issued and accepted.

Seeing as we're all being totally honest here. Let me get this off my chest (can be my little therapy session for 2013).
...it's because of this issue i never really visited a swinging club (of course i haven't been to one so i'm just making a pre-judgement). From all the messages i used to get and so forth, i couldn't help thinking that it will be these exact same people who will be attending the clubs as well (i may be wrong). So, the response in the clubs would be the same as on here..
Now i'm getting a bit more confident about the club scene. Of course i have got the odd looks when i attended one. But, to be honest - it's not like i'm going to change for anyone now is it. I am what i am.

I used to have issues getting invited to parties due to the colour of my skin and I'm a skinny white boy.
They were a different kind of parties mind you and they were thrown by the family of my ex girlfriend but still bugged me when I was uninvited. |

I have white friends, I have Asian friends and all colours inbetween. I recently gave a pollish lady a lift home home from a training course so she didnt have to get 3 buses. I work with people of all races and religion and none of its an issue. I dont have a problem with foriegn health proffesionals.
I like to swing with black guys, I dont like to swing with black guys who dont speak very good english, I dont like to swing with black girls. I like polish women but not men! I dont like to swing with Asian or Turkish men.
Or am I just racist against people im not attracted to?

That said, prejudices are not straight forward. I'm Afro-Caribbean but will not play with anyone from Africa. In fact I turned down a white man who had a business base and homes in Nigeria and Ghana. When he told me his housekeeper was a prostitute he and his business partner shared my skin crawled!
Conversely, there are certain accents that put me off as I have negative thoughts about the people: German and Afrikaans being two. My boyfriend is Dutch, his English is superior to mine and it's his sixth language the other five being Dutch (of course) Afrikaans, German, Flemish and French!

Happened to me many times. U get chatting for ages and feel a lot of enthousiasm coming from the others side but when the info about (where u from originally) gets addressed in the chat. They either disappear as soon as they know or react in a shocking way. and time is wasted and feelings hurt. Thats why I have decided to simply put it in my profile. At times it can be an attraction to some that u r from a different culture but better being upfront about it from the start ruther then facing tge shock later lol |

Firstly I had a brief relationship with a Pakistani guy which ended as his family had him marry a Pakistani girl even though he'd never met her and didn't like her when they did marry...but his lack of balls and fright at going against parents astounded me...especially since he was a drinker, smoker and fucker of white women at heart
Secondly my experience of Asian and Eastern European men in clubs is horrendous...rude, derogatory comments, touching when not asked, disrespectful attitude, and letchy stalker behaviour.
For these reasons I would not have sex with either of these groups. I am intelligent enough to appreciate that not all men of these origins are the same, but personal experience goes a long way |

I have no Asian men on my profile (not into black men either). I've been called many things, racist included, for my preference. I have nothing against them, just not attracted to them. I've never had a problem with my race (I'm Asian) but with my appearance, as I have a shaved head. |

People will always use "preferences" to try and hide their bigotted and prejudiced views. The crass language used or the extreme nature of those preferences (such as the person recently who wouldn't meet anyone that had met black or asian men), to me go way beyond preferences.
But conversely suggesting that anyone who expresses a preference is racist is as stupid and ridiculous as suggesting anyone that isn't bisexual is homophobic. Preferences are often just that with no sinister motive behind them.

reminds me of the fateful night many moons ago when there was a conversation about race (the really old time regulars will back me up) and someone stated that not only did they not play with black people.... but they also didn't play with anyone else that had played with black people!.....
I would have thought people would have had stronger convictions than to bow down and let others dictate to them who they should and shouldn't invite to parties.......
not everyone is going to like everyone to play with... and I thought people would have been mature enough to understand that..

I do find the assumption that everyone will pile in at a party strange too. I have been to parties where the only person to interest me is the person who invited me. I must have been a bad guest for not opening my legs to everyone else.

I think you're spot on. On a site like this the number of people who won't play with a particular group, who are genuinely racist, is likely to be minuscule.
The problem comes with the almost inherent need to defend ones self in such situations. This is what often leads to inconsistencies, poor excuses and opens people up for my criticism and abuse.
I know a lady who is overly vocal about the fact that she doesn't fancy black guys. Her reasoning is that she doesn't think they treat women well. We will forget the fact that she has had many bad relationships with white men, terrible relationships with the fathers of her children. While we are at it, we might as well also skip over the wet patches she leaves everytime she posts a picture of Will Smith topless on Facebook though.......  |

If a shopkeeper feels that a certain ethnic group are more likely to shoplift or cause trouble in his shop, is it acceptable for him to choose not to serve anyone from that race?
If you have experience of members of a certain ethnic group behaving in a particular way and then expect all other members of that group to behave in the same way, surely that is racism?
I'm not saying people can't choose who they sleep with, that would be daft and would also be way off what the original post was trying to convey.

I say people can shag who they want. I personally do not make decisions based on skin time, country of birth or origin. But I accept it's as discriminative as a preference for blondes only, or only ladies who are under a size 14 etc etc.
Even those who claim to not agree with having a colour/ethnic preference, themselves have their own preferences. Be it weight, height, age etc.
The specifics of your origin may not seem like a big deal to you but may be to someone else. And that is a preference they're allowed to have and a choice they are afforded. Just as you can chose not to meet married women or dom ladies.
By recognising the freedom of choice you have, it becomes easier to empathise with someone who's decision may not be to your liking but ultimately is a manifestation of that same freedom of choice.
The alternative is oppression. I know what I prefer. |

I think the word 'racism' is being bandied around a bit too freely. The inherent feeling of superiority will be absent in lots of cases here. What I think is happeni!ng, is that what is often meant is 'xenophobia'.

I have never been the victim of racism, but certainly of various forms of xenophobia. When people insult my ears with their preconceived ideas about foreigners and I remind them that I am one of those 'bloody foreigners', they always hasten to add, "Oh, but you are different, you are one of us!". Bollox.

Why oh why do we hear the race card being used so often by mixed or folk of asian origin.
This may be uncomfortable reading for some folk but rightly or wrongly there is still the perception of asian chaps looking down on women.
Granted a very small minority are like this but the perception is there.
As for the comment that if a particular group whether white black pink or any colour are deemed responsible for say shoplifting then why should say shopkeepers not be wary of that particular group.
Surely we all make assumptions about folk daily.
For me every junkie i see are white and i assume rightly or wrongly they are scum but in reality just minority are so i keep distance from them.

To me its unacceptable that any folk treat women as crao ir second class thats just one perception i have and has mentioned junkies i assume are all scum to me its acceptable to think like that because to a degree its true.
Whats right to me wiil be different to someone else. I am open to pursuasion on all things but until i am convinced my perceptions are correct and based on experience however uncomfortable it is for folk.
In ideal world everyone would have no preconceptions but a lot of folk do.

I have white friends, I have Asian friends and all colours inbetween. I recently gave a pollish lady a lift home home from a training course so she didnt have to get 3 buses. I work with people of all races and religion and none of its an issue. I dont have a problem with foriegn health proffesionals.
I like to swing with black guys, I dont like to swing with black guys who dont speak very good english, I dont like to swing with black girls. I like polish women but not men! I dont like to swing with Asian or Turkish men.
Or am I just racist against people im not attracted to?
I totally get the frustration about the post above when an Asian couple were let down due to none of the other people wanting to swing with them, does that make them racists??? after all they are excluding someone due to skin colour.
My first question would be what you have against Polish men and black women?
Nothing why would you ask that? Because I dont want to swing with them?
Just find it odd. There's people that I don't find attractive, but not entire races or ethnic groups.
