I think this is so outdated and pointless politicians and royals should have no input into who goes on it or who gets a mbe etc.
David Canerons hairdresser got a mention for fucks sake. If it was sweeney todd that did it that would be better
Some say its tradition and part of british values.
I am all for unsung heroes getting recognised but we do not need anymore Kords etc as we are over loaded with unelected folk as it is who can shape society.
Time for major revamp and I think the commitee should be led by someone who has helped changed things for thousands not just a few Ia have no one in mind and sure others will have.

It's a few committees for the different categories. You can submit anyone for an honour - it's easy to do.
I agree that some of them seem a bit arbitrary but the community ones often do reflect the unsung heroes.
