Grizzly and I have have lived in our flat for just over a year and for the majority of that year we have been kept awake and verbally abused by our upstairs neighbour. She had mid week parties that go in till all ours, we ask her to turn it down and get abuse. We had her sister kicking off at me a few weeks ago because she thinks I kissed her ex, 10 years ago. And the last 3 nights there have been these arguments that have gone on for hours, screaming, shouting and banging. I don't know what to do about it

Call and speak to your council...they will have someone who deals with noise nuisance and difficult neighbours and a process to go through...if they're threatening you, involve the police

"move"

It's council, we can't afford private at the minute and it would take them months to move us anyways

It's a long process whatever you do. Environmental Health will tell you to keep a diary of everything. This is to collate some evidence. They might send a letter in the first instance but generally there is no follow up unless all the other neighbours have been complaining too. If you know they are either Council or H.A. Tenants you could try complaining to them.

They will ask you to record times and dates and what not as evidence...usually if its another council tennant they can serve eviction notices if the are breaking their own tenancy with anti social behaviour...get in touch with your estate officer who will be able to advise and refer you to noise abatement section within your council x

speak to council they have their own asb team who will investigate and take action. its highly unlikely that you would get a move. The asb team can take action in terms of them. as asb is breach of tenancy agreement.

councils have streamlined process for dealing with shonky council tennants which i'm assuming they are .... get yourself down the housing department and tell them whats happening .... no need to bother with environmental health

dont fuck around with councils and all the rest of the bollox , you will get no where slowly , next incident , just have your man bang on their door , when they open it spark em out , it solves the problem in no time at all . had this problem when i lived in Royston in Glasgow , it took no more than a broken nose on their part and things became nice and peaceful . problem solved

Bless you, really feel for you, there is nothing worse and can drive anyone to despair, the advice given is what we have said, your only option is to try and get rehomed, or follow official channels of complaint, which are a long process, but really your only option. You could try reasoning with them, explaining the situation, but realise that this isn't an option with some people. Hope you get sorted.

the direct aproach is always the best , and you will feel so much better in yourself when you have sorted things in a nicely robust fashion

if it is a scumbag area like the one i used to live in , they are regular customers of the police , chances are they wont go to the cops , abd if they do , they will allways take the side of an upstanding citizen over a junkie with a broken nose , thats my experiance of it anyway
