I went years ago and it was cold, miserable, didn't meet one taxi driver who could speak any English so getting around was hard. Only thing I did was drink alcohol in the end. Saying that, it was years ago. The internet is far more advanced and people have more mobile internet devices so getting around and finding things to do would probably be easier, with the help of google and google translate. |

we went as a couple and loved it although stayed out of the center at nighttime mostly as it can be a bit manic, we stayed 10-15 mins tram ride away from the center as the hotels and food and drink are a lot cheaper than they are in town,
most popular sightseeing trips are the
Castle,Charles bridge and the old town hall i recall.
Enjoy |

Depends when you go. We went in March, cold, but magical. The area around the castle is nice, you have to take a stroll across the Charles Bridge, but watch out for pick pockets. Be underwhelmed at the clock and eat (cheap, tasty food) before you drink!
I'm not a drinker but we were lured into the Alcohol Bar: best mojitos outside of Havana!
If you like classical music there's always a recital somewhere for a minimal cost.
I liked Prague, but I went before it became a stag weekend destination. |

I went 3 years ago as a couple and loved it. Old Town is full of markets and beautiful restaurants and New Town has amazing an amazing cathedral next to the parliamentary house (palace)... lots of little parks in New Town for walks. Prague has an amazing jazz/classical music scene...when we went the Prague orchestra played every afternoon in the cathedral for free...
Basically loads to do and I can recommend a lovely hotel that's very central and not costly. |

It is a real shame Prague is now a destination for stag parties.
I used to visit there many times years ago before and after the end of communism and it was such a beautiful place.
I still remember the beginning of the end of that beautiful place one minute the local people were lining up to buy bananas then a few months later they were lining up to get into Macdonalds.
My advice is get out and about of Prague as there are plenty of great places to visit. |

Avoid the darling cabaret club, they charge £25 for a spirit drink and £10 for soft drinks. We went last Feb, very cold but the castle is well worth a visit as well as the markets in the town . You will have a great time |

Also, don't change money with people on the streets. Only use the proper exchange places. I was naive when I went at 17 and got offered an exchange too good to miss. Between me and a friend we exchanged £800. It turned out to be Bulgarian money, which looks very similar, and was practically worthless xx |
