For those who were around last year and took part in the vast amount of avatar challenges how much money (if any) have you spent on having a bit of fun by taking part?
Ive gone from silver membership to gold previously just so that i could upload more pictures..
Ive bought various prop: sweets, an idiots guide to sex guide for the literacy challenge, ive spent money on petrol borrowing stuff from friends, ive bought face paints, spent 99p on some fake glasses from ebay trying to be a school girl...
im sure there's loads more. I know its all fun. just curious if anyone is bonkers n forked out dosh or just made do with stuff around the house? xx |

"I've spent over a thousand pounds on Star Wars lego, but that wasn't for the DIY challenge. It just came in useful, so doesn't count "
£1000 on lego
is it that expensive these days? |

That's only part of my star wars lego in that pic. I've got a lot more, plus a lot of technic lego. I suppose we all need a hobby or two |

I'm stupid too!
But most of my efforts have been cobbled together with a mix of crap I already have, other peoples crap, poundland and eBay items under a couple of quid!
It's a laugh - nothing serious. |

You're expenditure on a bit of fun is virtually nil as far as I can see C n N ....
People spend far more on other things like betting, beer, clothes etc ..
Don't justify the bit of fun you get and the tiddly bit of money you spend. |

I dont take part in many avatar challenges but I do have a lot of accessories collected over the years ie hats, glasses, gloves, makeup, eyelashes, hair and face jewellery etc and of course underwear which I usually alter to add further embellishment to.
I dont think theres anything wrong with buying props for photos, a small orice to pay for the fun and the finished photo evidence. I'd much rather spend on that than smoking and drinking the money away |
