I don't see any bullying. I see a poorly written OP about a subject that has been discussed a million times that also has a simple answer if the OP could have been bothered to either read the site rules or search the forum. I then see some ribbing of the OP and the people that have decided to side with him. There's even been the threat of a new thread!....

On a forum such as this the vast majority of the communication is via the written word. So yes, of course writing clearly and intelligibly matters. It's also polite to at least try to communicate in a way that doesn't leave others struggling to figure out what is being said.

And it's actually relevant because it could be a contributing factor in why the OP is being treated in what he considers an "ignorant" way. It's always easier to blame others than to look to one's own failings though.

Some people (myself included) like to be able to read something without having to put in effort to interpret the poor grammar/spelling/text speak. I for one normally reserve the critique to those who either ask for it or who message me (if I can be bothered to respond).

However, in this thread, much of what has been written is tongue-in-cheek, but people like yourself draw negative attention to that which has been humorously posted, and therefore become a debate.

Lets get real here.

I agree with the person who pointed out that communication online is through the written word, and when you are hoping to meet someone, this is your first opportunity to impress.....at least to start with.

I dont mean to be rude when I make my comments about grammar as I usually cannot be bothered but also..I am sure I make mistakes too.

However..when we read messages or forum posts that are almost impossible to decipher..you cannot get away from the fact that it gives a poor impression of the person.

For me...communication and the ability to express before, during and after sex is what I find most erotic.

Nowadays with predictive text etc, whilst not perfect, provides a good tool to at least make the effort to communicate clearly. Otherwise it gives the impression of laziness and I for one, don't want a lazy lover.

People may like it or not...but the fact remains that when you post a message..it is your first chance (and maybe only chance) to grab someone's attention and poorly put together sentences with text speak like a teenager from a mature adult certainly doesn't gain them any points.

We don't have rules about spelling or grammar so please don't pick on how people write on the forum as it puts people off from posting and you could end up banned.

Dressing it up as tongue in cheek or banter is not an excuse especially if the person is not joining in anything you call "banter"
