It was touch and go. They tried to block my exit by flooding the roads and having almost no visibility. Hail, rain and winds all failed and I made it to Hampshire and out of the clutches of the SW. The drive back from Winchester at midnight was entirely rain free as the SE and the metropolis welcomed me.

Yippee. See, a little bit of patience was all that was required.
I almost dropped in on a friend near Honiton on my way back but the weather put me off dealing with the dirt track I would have to traverse.
