"come on then people love to hear your _iews on this, I never know which to choose and still don't make my mind up till the last minute." Depends where the meet is, not adverse to a decent pair of trainers, but not with trousers and a shirt!

I once turned up for a very last minute late night meet in a hotel, in tracksuit bottoms and hoddie.and the next day the couple hammered me, so a strange one, if was in a bar or pub I understand shoe and smart but a midnight hotel meet, just in the door and out.

you can tell a lot about a person by the shoes they wear , When you see the local beggar in the street dressed in rags look at there feet .9 times out of 10 tidy and expensive trainers/boots /shoes on them .( YES im sure someone will say they nicked then )
Clean shoes/trainers tend to mean they do take the time to shower and change there underwear on a regular basis . |

Or they have been donated them via clothes banks or donations received at homeless centres |

I wouldn't even notice what someone has on their feet. I have no idea what is a trendy label and I don't care. I like people. Not into keeping up with The Jones's. |

I had a social meet with a couple on Monday.Left home in a rush in my gym gear, grabbed some clothes on the way out and only realised after I'd showered I hadn't brought different shoes, undies or socks and had managed to pick up a pair of combats and a hoody. Luckily they were very good about it! |

Yes this could be true but who donates new nike trainers or Catapiler boots. Yet they cant find a clean shirt or decent jeans on the rail . |

Depends on the time of year and circumsatnces obviously. If it's a drink first then a smart appearance and shoes for sure.
If it's a male and a quickie then he must wear trainers,so it's quicker for him to get back to the wife |

I know lots of places that donate new trainers and shoes to the homeless.....I tend not to judge where people acquire processions from....I'm not saying people don't go around shoplifting I ain't that stupid...however some have got them by legal means... |

As long as the.outfit is clean and well maintained and suited to wherever the meet is that's fine. So smart trainers with decent jeans if we're meeting for coffee is fine.
Having said that I have met guys during their lunchbreak who have been very apologetic about what they're wearing because they do a manual job which dictates what they wear. But good hygiene is discernable even under work dirty clothes. |

Trainers??? Really. I like men to look good.
I will be honest and say a guy turning up for a meet in trainers when I am in my heels and dressed to impress wouldn't please me at all.
Personal preference of course x |

The only time trainers are acceptable in the over 20's is if your excersising. Unless we had arranged to go on a run with a meet we would expect them to turn up suitably attired |

Isn't it odd that women look at a mans shoes when most men don't spend more than 5 minutes picking them and only have at most two pairs. Women spend ages shoe shopping and buy loads but most men usually don't bother looking below the knees. |

Only two pairs of shoes , I have guessing as I am not getting up to count about 10 pairs which is not a load for a guy Paula has even more than me |

I like to wear my heels, I wouldn't be upset if someone wore trainers as it can be seen as casual on the male side of things.clean and tidy is what works more for me

I (S) wore all black converse with black jeans, a shirt and suit jacket to a meet a few weeks ago and I think I looked pretty dapper!
We like to make an effort with our appearance and like others who do the same. We're cool with Converse, flip flops or whatever as they can be smart / casual with the right outfit but a trakkie or hoodie isn't really our idea of a hot meeting outfit.
...and white socks? Just wrong!! |

Would you do the full sporting look, tracksuit, shorts and football top.
If someone turned up for a meet in trainers I would ask them to jog on. |

I can't stand tracksuit bottoms full stop. They should just be for in the gym or slobbing around the house. |

Really? Trainers are my default mode. Trainers, jeans, shirt. I'm not talking 'sporty' trainers either, just converse or some similar type sneakers.

I hate to see trainers on people full stop, they are sports wear and should stay just that in my opinion, if a guy meets me in trainers it just looks like he has not made an effort and picked up the first pair of shoes to hand, I have actually turned men down in the past for wearing scruffy trainers, if I make an effort to look nice for them I expect the same in return, sorry if that makes me sound a snob, im really not, I just hate trainers |

I had to check your age. Tracksuit and a hoodie are youth club attire. Did you play table tennis and buy your meet some sweets from the tuck shop ? |

to me it makes no difference where I meet or what time I would still make an effort to look nice for any potential play mates, and if a guy turned up to meet in in his lounging about cloths because I was just an in the door and out meet he'd be out before he got in |

Think it depends on the type of social, the venue, what the gents general style is. Think as long as its all appropriate and he is clean and presentable im not generally fussed.
I do like a man in decent shoes though and yes i do check them out |

I am more interested in the actual person themselves than the shoes they are wearing.
Trainers, boots, shoes......not really fussed as long as the person looks clean, tidy/presentable.
Think it can also depend on the type of meet and where it is.

On a first meet i generally go for the classic look of black shoes, jeans, white shirt and a black pinstripe jacket
Donna wears..... well I can't keep track as there's 10 clothes changes before we get out the house, but she always looks lovely
Never trainers tho

I have worn my nice silver sparkly flip flops / slip ons to a coffee meet.
Wouldn't catch me dead in crocs on a meet or otherwise |

I think someone said something about a suit and converse. You could probably pull off that look too but not with a shirt and tie |
