Do you buy stuff because you want it, or because it's cheap?

Over the past few days, I have bought a shed load of games from Steam. I'm still playing wow! I think I bought them because they where 66-80% off. Like now, Skyrim is 75% off @ £3.74

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I am on a new financial plan. My rule is this year want or need. I pick something up and mentally ask do I want or need it. If it's want it goes back on the shelf. Need and it goes into the basket.

I'm running out of places to put 'stuff' so I'm trying not to buy anything.

My finances only let me buy things I really need, but I usually wait to get them when they're a bargain!

Perfect plan but always space for "dream" alongside your want or need........as there's things you know you want but can't have but can aspire to.......as you never know dreams can come true......just need to believe.

I have come to the conlusion I want to travel light in life - I don't want any more ornaments and fancy stuff so that limits what I want (and therefore buy!)

Hah, the Steam sale is a bit of an exception I think because a few of the deals are amazingly good. £3.74 for 100+ hours of entertainment is outrageous.

I've gone into a bit of a clothes buying frenzy as I got some pennies for birthday and Christmas... except I've spent more than I was given.

2wheels doesn't know this but when we go out tomorrow, I'm single so I can get lots of drinks bought for me to keep the cost down! Make the outfit pay for itself!

Only if I need it and its a bargain

Not just for the sake of buying something

there are 3 criteria you need to fulfil before buying "stuff"

1 do i want it

2 do i need it

3 can i afford it

and if you can truthfully answer an emphatic yes to ALL 3 questions, then you buy it

If I need something I would buy it as soon as I can without hesitation after sourcing one that suits my needs and budget.

If something is nice to have and I can afford it, then I would buy it regardless of whether it is on sale or not.
