Im using a 3 connect 3g at the moment and so far no problems . I did have a vodaphone one but they changed the terms and you now need a data sim from a shop and we aint got one ..but coverage was good when using  |

A new dongle will come with it's own sim card? Why not consider a 4G dongle? Supposed to be a stronger signal strength and much faster speed. Will roll down to 3G if no 4G signal is available.
Or a mifi device, will act as a wireless network hub with a 4G sim card inside. Will have the added advantage that you could perch it on a windowsill for a better signal whilst you use your device elsewhere within range of the hub. |

Can recommend 3, have had a dongle for several years.
Have now moved on to a mifi unit and so far have found it to have an even better connection. And of course you connect to it wirelessly, so even better! |

Yes the mifi dongel are the best ones to get and you can get them pay as you go as well.

Reading the bumf, it looks as if mifi allows connection to more than one device and the ability to position the mifi dongle where it'll maybe get a better signal (than a regular 3G dongle).
Any other advantages anyone has found? |

I use a 3 3G dongle it is very good (have used it for years now with no problems). Have thought about using my phone as a wifi hotspot but waiting for for 4G phones come down in price but its worth noting that 3 are rolling out 4G at no extra cost on its network. |

Had 3 dongle for years,dont have fixed internet at home,live in fairly rural hilly area,reasonable here,travel all over uk,well worth it,never had problem browsing,email or streaming,15gb 15 quid a month |

Haven't noticed any real difference, bearing in mind that it's obviously a slower connection than I have at home.
But with 3, I've had a connection in places I shouldn't have, according to their own coverage maps, so perfectly happy.  |

I use one with 3 for a number of years.
Coverage was a bit hit and miss to start with, and it did improve over time.
However there are still the odd spots in remote areas where there is no coverage from any network.

I use an o2 0payg single for my laptop. Search o2 mobile broadband ... Mapto check coverage by.postcode. Often get cheap.offer if you get one from the same provider as your phone. |

I'd check network coverage first as some networks work better than others in different areas... |

Myself and my good lady are looking into a WiFi hub device. When we are away we always find things like mugs coffee etc are never enough in the rooms. We both have a tablet each for our internet while away so a portable pay as you go hub will sit in our holiday case and just put credit on as we need it. We have found it will save us money as most hotels charge a small fortune for net these days which is normally slow as well. Looking at giffgaff sim as they do some stellar deals |
