As I've just been surfing profiles I was wondering is there any point in sending messages to people who you think are geographicaly to far to meet. What are other people's thoughts about this? As I see lots of nice people who I'd love to meet that's just to far and think there must be someone More convenient. Thanks Michael x |

If their worth it! |

It all depends I think! For a spontaneous meet, for me, it would need to be local, as you really don't know how it will go - the same would go for someone who wanted to meet socially first. For someone I know then it is worth the extra effort!

When I was younger travelling a decent distance could be all part of the whole adventure. Now I find travelling a chore so don't even view profiles outside my area.
Some would take travelling a long way a compliment, some desperation depends on their mindset really. I believe if you can't find suitable local meets in this day and age,it doesn't exactly inspire confidence imo |

In Feb I'm going to a social and I'll be meeting some really, really nice peeps there. Some I know from posting on the forum and some I've been lucky enough to exchange messages with.
Getting to know peeps is always worth it as you never know when you may meet. |

we never contact anyone above 25/30 miles away.
if others contact us further away, we wont be ignorant and will obviously chat.
if htey are happy to travel here then we are more than happy, if we get along. |

see, i suppose it depends where you live.
if you live in central london, then there will be loads on your doorstep, but if you live in the arsehole of nowhere, then travelling is the only way |

Used to travel down to West Midlands from Glasgow after work which took about 6 hours due to traffic on the M6. Returned home on the Sunday which took about 4 hours approx.
10 hour round trip for a cracking meal at one of the best Indians I've ever tasted made the trip worthwhile.
Oh and the sex was great as well |

Distance isn't always an issue if it's someone you like and want to meet. It's more the fact that life gets in the way so you can't meet.
If they are someone really nice and we get on then i will make the effort to meet them |

I travel hundreds of miles regularly with work, so I guess I have a different mindset to visiting others.
I used to see a couple in Northants regularly and had a FB in Shropshire.
Yes it is nice to have spontaneous meets closer to home but not so close that we see each other in the checkout queue down Sainsbury's! |

"You can still chat with them, you never know, they could be up your way one day."
So true! I'm very much hoping this is the case as I've been chatting to my absolute ideal man who lives over 100 miles away but I fancy the pants off him and we click. So who knows? |

I've travelled from north of aberdeen to liverpool for a meet, and also had someone who used to travel regularly from glasgow to mine to meet, guess it depends on the person. |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
I get a lot of messages from guys saying they'll be in my area soon and do I want to meet. Further questioning usually results in finding out they consider my area as being Manchester or Newcastle
Anyway my response is for them to contact me when they get to York, and I never hear from them again.
I love travelling and am down in the South West a lot of my job, so will make an effort to arrange a meet when down there. I am also travelling to clubs more than before so meet people I wouldn't usually meet (fingers crossed!) |

I don't see it as a problem, I've travelled the full length of the country to watch 90 minutes of football.
So meeting someone I like is not a problem with a little planning.. |

I will crawl out of my neck of the woods this year and travel a bit. Would love to meet a few off here, perhaps halfway, perhaps all the way Sarf. A good natter and a nice meal are wonderful, and dessert - although nice, wouldn't be considered compulsory. A few days spent together, seeing things, going places, will fill my plate nicely. |

I traveled 2.5 hours on a bus on NYE yet it was only 65 miles.
I don't drive so travelling can take a lot longer (its only 1.5 hours by car) so I take that into consideration as well as cost.
I have had men travel hundreds of miles to meet me and one or two have done it more than once, I never expect it and do appreciate the effort so make sure I spoil them a bit eg on the rare occasion I accom I will cook breakfast and bake something. |
