I rarely tweak my profile as it generally serves me well. However, I have chosen to delete the term 'athletic' since so many people have wildly different ideas of what that is. My hooe is that it may reduce the number of messages I have to say no thanks to.
What does 'athletic' mean to you? |

I describe myself as slim/athletic.
I work out, swim and go to the gym. I'm a 8-10 and well toned but want to work on getting more definition in arms and abs. |

"Toned, but not skinny right up to men with true rugby player builds.
I'd put you as curvy as you have big boobs xx"
To me curvy can mean all sorts like athletic can. I put average as I am a size 14 and that is the average size for women.
I think you are right about athletic possibly meaning rugby-player types - and that is why I deleted it as that is not my preference. It just saves people time. |

I have met a few body-builders in the past but my taste is for more slim and slender now. That's why I have removed 'athletic' as it gives a false impression of what I am after. |

To me athletic is someone who likes to workout and keep fit. I don't think it means slim at all, have you seen some of the Welsh rygbi players? Stocky men can still be athletic, in my oppinion |

I don't mind body builders but not keen on them when they are cutting. I've dated a couple and found I'd get turned off when their body fat dropped too low. |

I'd associate it with the slim and toned body types. The sort who play sport or participate in triathlons, rugby etc, not necessarily the body builder types who are more bulk focused ?

As someone else has pointed out, to me athletic meant slim with some definition - the long-distance runner type. But then realised that actually it is a term which is wildly open to interpretation. |

I always state average for me. To me athletic is well toned ...six pack that kind of thing
Not sure average is the right one for me as the term "average" is a very broad term... I'd say "healthy looking"(lol) is probably more for me but it wasn't an option funnily enough lol so average it has to be |

Agree it's not a helpful term - that said I've quite a thing for larger trim and fit girls with "sporty" bodies and finding a term for that is next to impossible. Think female rugby players...

I'm no athlete. I'd have a heart attack if i ran..
...so i count myself as average/curvy. I don't describe myself as curvy though. Or i'd have to block women from inundating me with messages (he says tongue in cheek).

It was written in my profile text - that is what I was referring to. And yes, you can form an attraction to all sorts, and I have. But those were more long term arrangements. Mostly I do one offs which means that there has to be a quicker attraction and slim/slender is what is currently attracting me the most. |

In nearly six yrs of various dating sites and latterly here I get fair scunnered at body types. I met someone a while back.who.described herself as " curvy" Aye as curvy as the Tyne bridge ! And no I did not fuck her as she was not what she presented.
Athletic: slim, toned, lower end bmi
Though some athletes on here are.like Eastern bloc seventies shot putters.
Average: normal bmi , wee bit of pinchable "excess"
Curvy: shapely in a woman beer belly in a man.
Large: not many here, they are all curvy.
Fabulous: read flabulous
It's not an exact science |

I have mine set as average as I have an althletic frame with a good layer of fat on it.
Lol genuinely though, my frame, is that of an athelete, broad shoulders and slim hips and toned arms and legs
I'm a slim size 10 but I have big boobs and a toned bum and thighs with a bit of a wobble on my belly.
I don't think theres an option for slim/althletic/curvy. So I just put average. |

I'd say athletic means slim runner type too. For a female I'd say slim and toned, size 10/12 max, dependent on height and how she looks really
For a bloke, not rugby player build. No idea how I'd describe that. I just go off pics anyway.
Some people think I'm average, some think I'm fat. Fine by me, it's all relative and no right answer. |

Athletic to me wouldn't describe someone who is very muscular. I tend to think of athletic more as stamina etc rather then body type.
A lot of the big muscly guys I know have no cardio ability at all even though they could lift heavy weights, whereas long distance runners can look like they'd blow over in the wind but can run 10,000 metres no problem.
Very subjective.. Just like all the other body types on here. Personally i think it would be easier to get shot of that part as you can't use it for a search criteria anyway and let photos show your actual body size/shape x |

I found this definition of athletics:
"Athletics is an exclusive collection of sporting events that involve competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and race walking. " |

If your talking about someone of an 'athletic build' then i think the they would have to be broad shoulders and muscular. If your talking about an athlete then anyone with a very good level of fitness this could apply to.
