Hi all!
I am wondering if any fellow forum people could help me out!
Last night I was enjoying drinks with special friends, one of them opened a bottle of champagne and then passed me the cork to which he said a short rhyme about luck and something about a coin in it, but as I had already had a little to drink I didn't catch all of what he said, but its been on my mind since!
I have tried to search this on the internet but cant find very much about it. Has anyone heard this rhyme or know what I need to do with this cork.
I'm a rather superstitious person in general and could do with any good luck that I can advance my way after a terrible year.
Ps Happy New Year to you all! |

I'm not sure what the rhyme is but if you pass the cork to someone with a coin in it, it's meant to bring good luck. Just keep it as a lucky charm. Ask him to make a slit in the top and put a small coin in. |

Placing a coin in the cork of a champagne bottle is considered to be a way of valuing a moment.
The coin is supposed to be one minted in the year of the event, and the cork shrinks and grips the coin so it cant be removed. It serves as a reminder of the happy event.
