Simplest way is get the battery to Halfords or quickfit n they will check it for ya for free, or get a jump start n leave it running for Twenty mins or so, if Red light stays on its probably the Alternator |

Yup, what they said. Several things it could be, not all expensive. If you can access a charger, or jump start the car get it to a garage where multimeter hydrometer etc are available. |

May be that the battery isn't holding the charge!
Get a free check - most garages will do it for you - then you'll know for sure |

Best way is buy a small charger, charge it over night, turn ign on, make sure the battery light, lights up then start it, while its running turn headlights on (this is best done at night) note how bright they are, rev it up and see if they go brighter, if they do odds are its charging OK then (with engine idling) turn everything electrical on, especially, HRW and heater, see if the headlights dim then rev it up again, they should go brighter. If you jump start it and just take it to a garage when they test it I could show up faulty. It takes a cars alternator at least 40 miles to charge the battery fully
Good luck |

You will need to put a decent charger on there if its flat and it will take about 24hrs to fully charge.
I wouldnt go to kwikfit personally they will probably tell you its dead to fit a new one lol.
The problem is when we have cold weather and the car has been standing around then they tend to go down quite quicky with an alarm running as well.
You will find the cheapest battery at a motor factors and you can get a decent bosch one with a 4yr warranty if you can fit it yourself.
Very simple to do and ring around for a good price.
Hope this helps. |

National, as in national tyres if you need a battery, discounts online then go to local branch and they fit it! not much more than my local factors (about £3) |
