in 1886 Dr. John Pemberton brews the first batch of Coca-Cola in a backyard in Atlanta, Georgia....wonder if he knew he'd end up taking over most of the known world? |

But not for longer than the first fifteen years, then the mix was mainly cooked up in a pharmaceutical lab with just a tiny trace of Coca root extract.
Even that was replaced with chemicals in the late 20's.
What you drink today has very little connection with the original drink except the sugar of course... |

the coca-cola museum in altanta is well worth a trip if you happen to be there ( i was lucky to have a trip there a few years ago - great city! )
you can see and taste loads of different varieties, and learn where the expression jerk comes from lol ..think its changed its meaning a bit since then |
