Funny!! The writer of dad's army lives in our village, when I got married his wedding presant to me was his chauffeur and silver shadow rols for the day along with his Bentley for my bridesmaids.

It was good but... I preferred only fools..., porridge, open all hours, some mothers..., the upper hand (ok maybe not, who even recalls it???), cheers and frasier.

Maybe I'm donning rose tinted specs but I genuinely feel they make as well as they used to...

I think the Alf Garnet character was cleverly written so that most people were actually laughing at him rather than agreeing with the controversial comments he would often make…
