It is personal preference. Plus, at this time of astronomical fuel prices it is a luxury many just cannot afford. Think of the planet Soxy and stop casting nasturtiums on your neighbours.

I like peace & quiet. I enjoy the countryside & ocean alone. I enjoy company too, but I want a balance.
Would people stop telling me to cheer up because I enjoy being alone ! Am I out of order ? |

My arse cheek hurts but as i have a cold i find lying on my back makes it easier to breathe. Should i forgo easy breathing in exchange for a more comfortable derriere or just man up and take the pain? |

The bird table in my garden has blown over in the wind. I have several species hopping around pitifully looking for seeds.
But in order to sort it ill have to put shoes on or my slippers on or ill get wet feet.
Should I sort it or chuck the cat out to remove the guilt they cause me? |

My son is 18 and has a girlfriend he is besotted with. The problem is that I really dislike her and her family.
I feel I tied in that I want to keep my son happy and hopefully let it run its course, unfortunately its been 2 years.
She doesn't have any female friends so want to be with my son constantly. He is studying and this interferes with his work. She doesn't work and neither do any of her family. She stays over my house a lot as her family bugger off for camping weekends and she can't get into her house. If my son does stay over there he doesn't get fed much and he says its cold there.
She wants to be with my son 24/7 and he feels stuck in the middle between her demands and his parents who work and don't want girls in the house constantly.
It has come to a head a few times when ive found out that her mum has taken money off my son, and the girlfriend is always taking his clothes and swapping them with cheap primark copies and I have to ring up and sort it
The mother is a bit wary of me as she parks a few streets away to avoid me going out when she knows she's done wrong.
It isnt going to get better, our families are too socially different. I feel tied because I have to reign it in so not to upset my son and cause a rift, but id like to rip her head off, more so her mothers.
What's your advice Lickety |

I've just tripped over a magic lantern and as we're in the depths of a recession I've only been granted one wish. Now as much as I want World peace I also want a time machine and a new pair of shoes. Anyway I can ask for all three at once? |

I seem to remember this problem when they had been going out for a year.
Is your son planning to go to uni? Can you let things run their natural course until then without hurting anyone?
If not, then I suggest that you send your son to Israel to work on a Kibbutz for 6 months. If he still likes her when he returns get ready to be a granny.

As the surgery is still open.....I have a problem with squirrels running out in front of me on the cycle path, causing me to brake harshly, especially early in the morning on the way to work? Any ideas, its driving me nuts. |

Those spikes do look fun, but they may make filtering hard and steering as the bike couldn't lean :p"
As I am not a cyclist I have no idea what filtering hard means. Collecting wing mirrors just isn't practical. Where would you keep them?

My son was planning on going to Uni but I think his plans will be hampered by her putting pressure on him not to leave her.
I just live in hope that her head is turned by another boy. Im going to look into hiring a guy, a honey trap kind of thing, it could work ....... |

Tell him it's uni or he is disinherited forever. Tell him that once he has completed the first 2 years at uni if they are still together you will help them to be able to live together if that's what they want for the final year.
That should give her plenty of time to find someone else.

Can he find a more local Uni that does the same course? Failing that. Obviously she is selfish and is putting her own "needs" before his. Secondly if all fails in a few years he could have blown his chance in getting into the Uni he wants. If she loves him. They'll make it work despite where he goes to Uni.

Sadly I can see Man city thrashing them as no team can stop them at the moment. Yet I can see west ham winning 4 out of their next 5 games. Man city being their only defeat. |

I would hate to be in your situation and empathise with your anxiety. If she truly loved him she wpuld nwver stop him going to university. I was with a guy who went to oxford and he was in 2 minds whether or not to go. I wouldn't let him give up his hard work for me and he went. We stayed together until near the end of his second year. I just didn't like the person he turned into and we broke up. Talk to her if you can and explain that he has studied very hard to get to where he is and thst if he goes it doesn't have to be the end. Although inevitably it probably will be.
I do hope your son makes the right choice. He will live to regret it if he doesn't |

I would hate to be in your situation and empathise with your anxiety. If she truly loved him she wpuld nwver stop him going to university. I was with a guy who went to oxford and he was in 2 minds whether or not to go. I wouldn't let him give up his hard work for me and he went. We stayed together until near the end of his second year. The Jacuzzi it is then (you didn't say you didn't have one of those). I find sometimes how you cook peppers and what with changes how they affect digestion. I'm no expert here though. Perhaps my chili chicken recipee? |

One of my issues is eating peppers. I love the flavour but they do make me trump.
You could always eat them just before getting in the jacuzzi or bath, easier to pass them off...
I don't have a bath.
The Jacuzzi it is then (you didn't say you didn't have one of those). I find sometimes how you cook peppers and what with changes how they affect digestion. I'm no expert here though. Perhaps my chili chicken recipee?"

Sadly I can see Man city thrashing them as no team can stop them at the moment. Yet I can see west ham winning 4 out of their next 5 games. Man city being their only defeat.
........we still have to play them 3 times; the two legs of the league cup semifinal & once in the league - ouch!!
Fulham, Newcastle, Cardiff and Nottingham forest I can see them winning if they approached the game right."

You need to check first if the vaccum advance and retard is working correctly. Otherwise under load the engine will pink.
After that the factory settings are good to start with but could be advanced slightly because the fuel today is better than 1967. You must however remember the firing order of a 1967 Ford is different from other cars of that era like the Mini. |

Seriously now... Living with someone else when you are used to being on your own is a big adjustment. If you sell make sure you are achieving the best market value and out the money away in case you ever decide to buy again - it will disappear quickly and we are on a rise again. Get a roadworthy, comfy van and enjoy yourself.

I have to work and im not well but don't want to take time off sick.....but i cant shift my cold n cough....what can i take that will shift it but not make me drowsy...thats all the issue i have.

Your feet won't really warm up that much changing the beds unless a) you are dressing in warm sock, going out and buying new beds or b) you are just changing the bedding in which case you can then hop into the newly made bed and snuggle down.
