Why would someone send pictures of themselves saying they live in America and also claiming the pictures are taken in their home, yet I can clearly see the plug sockets and they are British ones???

Am I correct that British standard 3 pin plug switches is only available here?

There's 3 pin elsewhere but we have a more cumbersome, squarish type.

They have three-pin plugs elsewhere - Singapore, for example - but not in America where the plugs are two-pin - rather like narrow blades not as in the European ones.

So it sounds like someone is telling porkies.

3 pin sockets aren't uncommon in the rest of the world and just like we can buy & install 2 pin american sockets here i'd assume they can do the same there. It could have just been an adaptor in a 2pin socket which can be tricky to tell from a picture.

What's confusing me, given the nature of the site, why is someone from across the pond contacting you? Though i do chat to americans they tend to be forum regulars so you get a sense of who they are & what they're like. So the question is was he planning on a meet
