Hi all, thinking of buying one I normally go for tomtom, I guess it probably does but it doesn't say on the info on it, does the nuvi have post code function instead of having to type a full address in ?

i have an older garmin, but yes, it has the 6 digit post code function, then asks for a house number, if available.

wouldnt buy a different one personally.

use it for work, and privately and never sent me wrong

I've never owned a sat nav but I'd have thought addresses were easier to remember than postcodes, if a bit slower to key in.

if it's a place you have never been before the easiest and most full proof way to program it and not end up going to the wrong address, is to use the post code takes a few seconds and guaranteed to get you to the correct address

Postcode functionality is far easier when you are navigating to non residential addresses.

If your going for the Garmin, make sure you get the lifetime updates. An expensive mistake I made as it's £70 0dd pounds to upgrade.

it may be a model that's been out a while, but they do tend to update the operating systems on these things, I have a tomtom rider motorbike satnav, it hasn't changed much since it was released apart from software updates and the latest version of it has a little bit bigger screen.

the mobile phones are pretty good, only good if you have lots of free data in your contract and the proper units just keep getting cheaper and cheaper, just got this one at Halfords for a whole £62 in the sale, I cant grumble at that price
