Titz Towers, North Notts

The book simplifies things.

I didn't understand Animal Farm. I thought it was all about some animals being more equal than others.

I've read all the harry potter books and see 3 films, one of which was the Half Blood Prince to try and make sense of the book... I still have no idea what is going on, it feels like the book was written for the sake of writing a book was also the hardest of all the books to read....

I however cannot understand Donnie Darko....

Its the 6th film in the series of books converted to film aimed at children. The entire story spans the books/films so its impossible to summise 5 books/films so you can understand the one you picked out at random to watch.

However on the general subject of the thread I cannot think if a film I didn't "understand".

"Catch 22 and Jacobs Ladder are both very confusing, and dull!"

Jacobs ladder is about a man that the medics in a field hospital during the Vietnam war keep resusatating.

And is confused as to what is happening as his memories or being mixed with what his soul is experiencing as it passes into what some call purgatory were both angels/demons are vying for that soul as his life ebbs away. The movie is confusing, but this is only to show how confused the man in the story is simples lol..

I didn't really understand the potter films. Seen all of them with the kids and they get fed up with all the questions I ask.

But the one film I really don't get is Green Mile. Isn't it just a grown up Disney film about a supersonic mouse ? It started of ok but then just got very silly after a while.

"6th sense......"

Very nice plot. Warrants a second viewing.

Satyricon (Fellini).

The film is loosely based on the book Satyricon by Gaius Petronius Arbiter, the "Arbiter of Elegance" in the court of Nero. The book has only survived in fragments, and the film reflects this by being very fragmentary itself, even stopping in mid-sentence.

And that shows. Back in the 60s I thought it was brilliant, but a recent reviewing left me scratching my head. Some great visuals, though.

The remake of the wicker man. I can't understand for the life of me how anybody thought it was good enough to release! Total disgrace!

Syriana - the George Clooney film. Good film but needs a few watches to start to understand it.
