Laughter is NOT the best medicine

Saw this In the paper a few days ago...

A giggle, a chuckle or a full-blown guffaw, we're told laughter is the best way to deal with the stress and strain life throws at you. But according to researchers, laughter might not be the best medicine - and could even lead to serious health complications.

Scientists from Oxford University said a women with racing heart syndrome collapsed and died after getting the giggles.

They found laughter can also tear the gullet, trigger epileptic seizures and even cause hernias. The paper added: 'it remains to be seen whether sick jokes make you ill and dry wit causes dehydration'

Ha! I would rather die happy/laughing!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've laughed until I have cried. If I died of laughter that would be fine with me.

What a way to go. I would choose to die laughing any day.

In fact if I could be laughing whilst participating in coitus that really is how I wanna go....

Selby

I have cataplexy as a symptom of my narcolepsy. It means when I laugh sometimes I fit and essentially my muscles go to sleep even though I'm awake. Can be quite awkward if I say something really off the cuff and sarcastic which tends to be my biggest trigger as I end up in a ball on the floor giggling and quivering. Done it more than a few times walking through the city centre with my family and friends.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I wouldn't mind dying of laughter, unless it is a bit like this:

My friend Gemma, 'Tina, look out, there's a bus coming!'

Me, 'Pull the other one, lass, it's got bells on!'

'No seriously, there is a monkey driving a stolen bus through the door of this pub and it's heading straight for you!'

Me: 'Ha Ha, you make me laugh!'

Just do the exercises. A messy end isn't the best way to be remembered.

It would be quite funny to die laughing, I hope that's how I go.

The title of the funeral could be "The day the laughter died"

It was the best medicine I had after my heart attack, the laughter of my children picked me up no end.
