Do you all have those days where no matter what you say or do you just seem to put your foot in it :/

Totally! My mouth is about 2 minutes ahead of my brain and I often hear a voice saying something unwise and wondering who it is, before realising it is I.
I'm quite capable of meeting a person who's just had a bereavement and asking if they kept the receipts for the Christmas presents  |
