Sounds familiar with ebay over Xmas!!
People flogging all sorts for extra cash, spending it straight away and being a tad lazy with any haste to post.
If its a standard retailer - kick off to customer services ! |

I'm in the same boat, paid on the 10th and still not arrived. Contacted the seller and they just said be patient they are sure they'll arrive, not much help when it's an Xmas present. (Not eBay by the way) |

Let me guess Parcel Force?
Every other company I have dealt with have been great; Parcel force, well even with a tracking number they randomly knock on your door when the tracking info still shows 'loaded onto, loaded onto, loaded onto'.... Like they need to load it 3 times without it moving
I have had this with the last 6 Parcel force deliveries, now I ask for a decent courier |

Mr Curvywelsh is a parcel courier. The service has been manic the last 3 weeks. Biggest problem is people ordering stuff then not being in to accept delivery!! Small/medium stuff can be left at post offices to be picked up by customers. But larger things have 2 chances of delivery, if still not in, the parcel remains at depot until customers contact them to re-arrange delivery. This can cost extra. At this time of year they just don't have time to call at neighbours to leave parcels, when they're going out with 130+ drops and delivering to little villages that are miles apart.
It's hard work, I know that from experience of going on his rounds with him. He's been getting in from work at 8pm some nights, when he starts at 7am. But he clears all his parcels.
Just don't understand why people aren't in to receive parcels, then they moan about having to collect from post offices or re-schedule. |

I ordered all mine last month to make sure the delivery gets to me on time. I hate waiting on things and they turn up late or not at all. Drives me mental! |

If tracking shows them to still be sat waiting to be loaded onto a lorry (that will actually move....) is it any wonder no one is in to receive them??
Luckily I use other services with better tracking info now
Which one does he work for? |

You don't understand that people are probably out working? It's not a difficult concept to get your head around really....
Sadly for me (like many others), I can't take day after day off work to sit and wait for a parcel that could take up to a week to arrive.

I know people have to work, but why can't they have a neighbour ready to accept delivery? Or delivered to their workplace? A note on the door or printed on the label is a help. Some do it. Signatures are needed for most parcels so they can't just leave them on doorstep. But hey ho, I'm not defending couriers, just explaining the process. And as it's manic this time of year and every man and their dog has been ordering on-line, some thought should be given as to how they can receive their stuff. |

The company mr works for has a service where a text is sent to a customer, and the parcel is delivered within 1 and 1/2 hours of him scanning the barcode. And even then people aren't in. This service is charged for, to enable the customer to be there. Not all parcels are done this way, as its a new service. But it's not working.
At least being able to drop parcels at the post offices makes it more convenient for customers to collect them if they weren't in. But only certain sized ones. Large ones get taken out again next day. Cards are left at houses to let them know, but parcels still go undelivered. It's not that the courier services don't care.
Sometimes senders say its on it's way, but its clearly not. Lorries break down, making deliveries to depots late. The vans break down, get punctures etc. drivers go sick. Thousands of deliveries are made by Chelmsford depot every day. Shit happens.
The loaders don't always scan every parcel, (which is being looked into) so tracking systems give false info. The parcel is on the van, but because its not scanned onto the van, the system breaks down. 99% of customers are satisfied with the service, same as any business, nothing is 100%.
I know how hard my mr works, this time of year especially. He even goes back to houses later if he can, with larger parcels, just to be helpful.
So don't blame the drivers, they do the best they can. |

There have been a couple of cases that I know of where neighbours have taken in a parcel, and not given it to the rightful owner.
When the customer chases up parcel, they are told who signed for it, neighbour swears blind they haven't had it.
Poor bloody driver gets accused of all sorts , even tho it was signed for legitimately by neighbour. |
