After finalising some pretty wonderful Christmas Eve plans last night, I'm curious as to what others are up to?
Many years ago I would have gone out into Oldham on a piss up, then I worked in Oldham. This year I'm driving home from Kent (via a detour to play Mrs Christmas!) and then when I get home I'm going to my friend's house for wine, nibbles, cheese and general giggles! |

Celebrating my daughters birthday
Trying to get an excited 4yr old ready for bed after putting the mince pie, carrots and milk out ready for Santa will be a challenge
Then once she's asleep bringing out the presents for xmas day and popping a gift in her stocking at the end of her bed |

"I will be on my own with Christmas songs and vodka...making cranberry sauce and bread sauce for Christmas Day....although if any hot men want help me...."
I love bread sauce - my mum hates it so I may make some for me and my bro! |

Going to a gig then back to mine to see in Christmas with a bang. Christmas dinner for two as my girls are going away with their partners. They are so happy I've met someone now they don't have to humour the old dear.
Feel quite sad really as I love Christmas with my girls. |

I'll be at work trying to encourage 23 men who have been refused home leave that life will get better, and getting d*unk or taking drugs won't solve anything.
Of course many on here will ask why am I wasting my time and to let them get on with it. |

I'll be trying not to have a coronary going up and down the two steep flights of stairs several times getting pressies from my room and putting them downstairs!
Then I'll probably sit down with a drinkie and chat online with friends. |

We'll be doing a big shop for food which will carry us in to Jan. Went we get back preparing the table and the vegetables. I like those done the night before.
Then at tea time we've been invited out to his brothers for a family meal. When we return crack open some booze. Yay. Lol |

Unfortunately not for a lot of the guys in my care that night!!
I however, am celebrating my 'Christmas Day' on the 29th, so I guess my Christmas Eve will be the 28th, which will involve sleeping off the night shift, waking long enough to eat and drink, before sleeping again!! |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
We always go out for lunch on Christmas Eve and have a family evening with some games. The neighbours might come over for a drink too.
The kids are probably of an age where we can't take them out Santa spotting any more. I won't be needed on hidden sleigh bells for effect. |

"Wrapping the presents I started buying at lunchtime, midnight mass, bed.... "
I haven't been to midnight mass for a few years. The nearest church is a big Catholic one which has queues for the three Sunday mass services so I can only guess at how full they must be for midnight mass.

Get there early, find a pew in the middle and let the crowd form around you... Then bring three real Christmas in... |

Going into tone with my mum and my boy at lunchtime for a coffee before she starts work. Then off to the supermarket for a couple of last minute bits (damn getting paid on Xmas eve so gotta wait till then for fresh stuff)
Then home to get all tidied up and the living room sorted.
After dinner we will watch an Xmas DVD and give my boy his Xmas pjs then once we leave milk and cookies put for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer it's off to bed for him.
That's when I'll pour a drink and get the presents under the tree and try not to be sad and lonely as it's my first Xmas eve on my own for a long time |
