And his assistant, Whitby, who also never recovered died at 32 from a heart attack shortly after Mills died. Still, allegedly, Biggs did give Mill's widow 65K.

recognising that biggs was built up by the media to be more than whom he was and his contribution to the crime etc

had he been caught fiddling the benefit system or touching kids he would have been just another scrounging scumbag or a nonce..

cos he was only involved in theft its sort of ok, it was'nt 'my money'..

No, they didnt give a shit. Some of them even bribed the police, the radio was saying this morning how the guy who khoshed the driver has never been brought to rights, he's known, but bribed the police.

I dont think crims back then or before then had better standards

No he'll never be forgotten that's for sure. I'm sure Jack Mill's family will never forget that one of the members of the gang were responsible for beating him, an innocent train driver going about his job, with an iron bar, causing injuries from which he never fully recovered and subsequently died. I'm sure the press and the movie industry will not allow us to forget either because they continue to make money off the back of Biggs and his mob.

Let us not forget, Biggs and his gang weren't the lovable cockney rogues who 'was good to their old mothers', they were a bunch of thugs and ruthless criminals prepared to go to any lengths during the commission of their crimes.

Did you respect them before their criminal relative died? If not, respecting them when the criminal dies, and for that reason only, is just hypocritical.

Our negative views towards him wont mean shit to his family even if they did read this, we don't mean a thing to them and rightfully shouldnt.

Every criminal involved in the robbery was responsible for the violence used,not just the actual thugs who dished out the beatings. Rumour was that Buster Edwards was one of the thugs who later took his own life,he was apparently looking at another lengthy jail sentence at the time.

Biggs took the piss out of the English justice system and that's why he became a legend to many. Both hardened criminals at the end of the day and not missed by the majority.

However some of the comments about Biggs on this thread beggar belief,the sort of people I'm pleased I will never meet.

There is no love loss for mr biggs here. I feel for his family, but the man stuck two finger up at the british police for so many years that you have to admire him, i do not condone his crime, however, because of the size of the robbery the sentences that were doled out were staggering, if you are honest with yourselves, what would you have done, walked like a lamb to the slaughter, or, done your best to remain free.

armed robbers today get away with very light sentences today compared to what the train robbers got. Where is the justice, armed robbery is armed robbery full stop.

there are more tax dodgers in this country that cost us a dam site more than biggs has.

the guy is dead, among the criminal fraternity he will be a hero, to tha normal person in the street je is a name that that have heard of for something that happens a long time ago, and to be honest couldn't give a toss about.

get off the moral high ground all those who a posting bash biggs posts, unless you are old enough to know what he did and remember how he lived after it.

if you are going to post check your facts, no one died, jack mills, the driver, died of chronic lymphatic leukaemia, with a further complication of bronchial pneumonia, in 1970, 7 years after the robbery
