Reminds me of a friend of mine who, aged 35, watched someone put a beer bottle to their ear and exclaim "wow, I can hear the sea"
She replied, "don't be daft that bottle has never been near the sea" .... I am sure if you shined a torch in her ear her eyes would light up..
(just in case, the sea sound from something held to your ear is due to the reflection of the sound of the blood rushing through your ear and has nothing to do with the sea. ) |
